@NASAEarth @USGS @NASA Assuming conditions are present for the blooms to occur is there anything that could be done to prevent it or lessen the severity of a bloom? Also, Just fyi, I think you meant to mention @USGS and @NatlParkService

The findings come from a team of @USGS and @NPS that analyzed satellite data from @NASA and others, as well as water samples collected from the reservoir. go.nasa.gov/4aENBvL

Algae blooms are more common in Colorado’s Blue Mesa Reservoir when water levels are low and water temperatures are high – conditions the area is currently experiencing in 2026, though no blooms have been reported.

Spacex Falcon 9 climbing through low clouds this morning, threading the newly risen Sun on the Starlink 10-50 launch from SLC-40. Getting the alignment right meant a half mile trek each way through dim light and the bugs before sunrise, worth every bit of it for this angle. This launch carried more than the usual 29 Starlink V2 Mini satellites; riding on the first stage booster were two Fabships from Besxar, a Washington D.C. startup testing pilot reusable manufacturing pods. The pods carried semiconductor wafers through the stresses of launch and re-entry, essentially an orbital-adjacent stress test for future in-space manufacturing. Booster B1090 stuck its 13th landing on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas out in the Atlantic. A quiet, ordinary Sunday morning turned into a genuinely unusual mission profile, and a memorably buggy walk.

Russia is losing the war and its economy is crumbling. Putin’s leadership has been disastrous. All Putin has in his dilapidated tool kit is bombing civilians. He’s hoping to pound citizens into submission. The U.S. and all free world must step up. The U.S. House has passed Ukrainian military aid and a Russian sanctions bill. It’s time for the President and Senate to follow suit.

Nobody on that flight paid for the Moon view (probably). Revenue opportunity, @SouthwestAir ? That's a Boeing 737 MAX 8 (N9010T) transiting the 97% Moon over the Space Coast Saturday night. SWA191 was traveling from Orlando (MCO) to San Juan (SJU) at 15,000 feet (and climbing) and 405 knots 📷:me, flight data:@flightradar24

Photo finish! 🏁📸 On June 14, Perseverance completed a Martian “marathon” by surpassing 26.2 miles (42.195 kilometers) of travel. The day before, NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter snapped this view of the rover and its tracks from space.

Upcoming releases of FSD will remember your parking preferences, so that the car goes to the right location at your home, office, school drop off, etc. Destination parking is by far the biggest reason people now intervene with FSD. Critical safety interventions are extremely rare.

I’m astonished more people aren’t raving about Tesla’s full self driving. I no longer need to drive my car. The only time I take control is to back into my garage because it’s down an awkward ramp.

Making the donation to @UTMDAnderson tomorrow for the print profits! I’m actually a bit nervous, I’ve never made such a huge donation before. I’m half expecting some authority to stop me and tell me no for some reason 🤣

@AJamesMcCarthy Took this at 9:08pm EST tonight from Long Island, NY. I believe I got Venus, Jupiter, the Moon and maybe Mercury? (straight down from the moon closer to the clouds) Couldn't see Mercury with just my eyes. The phone seemed to get it in "night mode".

Go outside and look at the moon! The moon and Jupiter, a single raw photo captured just a moment ago. Since the moon is at such a slim phase, it’s possible to overexpose it and see stars. You can also see satellites as thin streaks.

More than doubled again We’re raising so much money. Already exceeded what I raised to donate to Gregory’s shelter last Christmas. Feels weird/awesome/exciting Thank you from the bottom of my heart At this end of this I’ll post receipts so you know exactly what was raised

🚨 UPDATE: @DeptofWar just designated Cirrus Aircraft an official Chinese military company, and as of June 30, Cirrus is prohibited from receiving Pentagon contracts. Two weeks ago I wrote about how the most delivered piston aircraft manufacturer in America has been owned by the CCP's primary defense conglomerate since 2011. Glad to see it finally called out!
Congressman Pat Harrigan@RepPatHarrigan

Cirrus Aircraft, the most delivered piston aircraft manufacturer in America, has been wholly owned by the CCP's primary aerospace and defense conglomerate since 2011. The same Chinese company that builds fighter jets and drones for the PLA has been sitting inside our aviation industry for nearly 15 years. How did we let this happen? washingtonexaminer.com/op-eds/4580021…
