16,000 households get more than £60,000-a-year in benefits. It's got to stop. Reform is the party of workers, not welfare.

@Sillyshib @BLAIMGame No. Capital Gains Tax applies to profits you make from selling assets such as shares or property. You don't pay tax on gifts, but you do pay tax on any interest earned on said gift, once it's over your Personal Savings Allowance

@PsrHcl @almurray Whether all tyres are made to the same specifications or not, some cars are heavier than others. Mine needs 2.4 bar in the front, 2.7 bar in the rear. Which is a lot more than 35psi

@almurray Is there a sticker either on the inside of your driver's door or on the inside of the filler cap, that has the tyre pressure recommendations ? All tyres are made to the same specifications, so you'll be safe within the range 28psi to 35psi

@AutoPap Left. Never did like the Renault 5 at the time, much preferred the Peugeot 205, and the Clio that replaced the R5

I wonder perhaps if maybe they could also look into the enormous weight of electric cars.

@elliottlock @JeremyClarkson Okay, let's make this simple. BMW make an ICE only version of the 5 series Touring (I cost this because I have an older one of these now). They also make an EV (the i5), so it's easy to compare. Petrol only 520i: 1,850kg Battery EV i5: 2,255kg The EV is 22% heavier than the ICE

@MandyConsumer @MrM196919 @anon_opin You bought a 316i. That's your issue right there. My wife bought a 2003 E46 320d in 2007, with 137k miles on it already, and when I sold it to buy my current 2012 F11 520d Touring in 2016, it had 308k miles on it.

Think we've reached the point where it's more of a flex to have a crappy old car than a shiny new one. Shows you have your priorities straight. I work in car insurance and can confirm that the vast, vast majority of people with fancy cars have them on ludicrous finance deals

@blahblaaahblaaa @AshValeCommuter @anon_opin The terms of the finance agreement and the terms of the insurance policy. You’re way off beam on this one sir so just believe me when I say this is the truth. 38 years in claims handling says so.

TV's James May urged me to bid on this Toyota Century. I wavered because there seemed to be a lot of interest and I assumed bidding would soar into the teens. But no. Someone got a bargain. And it wasn't me. Bah!

@harrym_vids Think it’s actually criminal that no spare is in a car now. I know it’s probably rare to use one, but it’s not taken out for emissions.

Out last night to see Wuthering Heights (I loved it but I haven’t read the book) then a nice meal, followed by pothole hell on the way home. Out in the wilds, no spare, foam didn’t work and ended up with M jnr coming out with the trailer to pick us up. Cotswolds now known as Potswolds for good reason..

Was bollocked in work for sending the Manufacturing Director a file named "prat.wks". Boss would not accept that it was an innocent acronym for "Production Receipts Audit Trail". It wasn't.

@sharrond62 Some of us are just not dog people. Frankly had enough of dogs being everywhere, especially in establishments that serve food, it's so unhygienic. I've also been attacked by a dog in the past, so would welcome less tolerance of them

@ShawnAllen79 @MBrundleF1 @F1 Or just state a minimum pit stop strategy like Qatar. And use of every compound in the race. I would be interested to see if refuelling would add some spice.

Dean I appreciate your passion but we lifted and coasted back in the fearsome 80’s turbo days. And pretty much constantly in Sportscar racing at Le Mans and suchlike. Sometimes regulations determine total fuel use, but in any case you never want to carry excess fuel through a race, it’s guaranteed to slow you down. Through the eras the great champions had to manage and protect engines, tyres, brakes, clutch, gearbox, suspension, driveshafts, fuel load, and now battery charge. It’s all part of the challenge, the best simply have a greater capacity to manage those challenges whilst carrying winning speed.
Dean Hummerstone@InstructorADI

@SkySportsF1 lift and coast is 100% not racing. All your ex racing driver pundits are hypocrites if they champion this “F1 destroying era” @MBrundleF1 @karunchandhok @JensonButton @NicoRosberg And Anthony… sorry can’t find his X handle

@wearetherace @F1GuyDan he only won his home race as McLaren gave him 1 pit stop whereas Oscar had to do 2 pit stops. All being equal, Oscar would have won.

Lando Norris will finish the 2025 F1 season as the only driver to win their home race.. He also developed a habit of collecting other drivers' home races too 😅 💻 @F1GuyDan

@Terry_Bull19 @SkySportsF1 See it from the other perspective maybe - Oscar has been professional and calm after being robbed of a silverstone win and then the swap at Monza. He’s had enough - time for Oscar to get his elbows out. Norris currently driving better tho - gonna be a nerve wracking end

Lando Norris revealed he will face "repercussions until the end of the season" for the first-lap contact with McLaren team-mate and title rival Oscar Piastri in the Singapore Grand Prix, but with McLaren not revealing what they are, what do you think they could be? 👀
