Another week of Non-cooperation from the State. After court tussle, we thought resolution was achieved between the state and Metro Railway for Orange Line gap. The 6 night block at Chingrighata was supposed to be given last week. We await the Beleghata -Sector V Metro yet again.

Cause not only did he lose the election 3 months after this statement but also had his wings culled by BJP itself post 2014. Regardless, you can rest assured knowing that if BJP opposes Mumbai metro in the future I won’t vote for them.

After today one thing is for sure. That at least till the time I am a Mumbai voter I’ll never vote for congress. Yes I have a dozen complaints of my own with BJP, NCP (AP) and SHS (ES), especially about the condition of BEST but at least they never opposed Mumbai Metro project. Mumbai metro is my red line, cross that line and you’ll become my enemy numero uno. And regarding this Siddesh Rane chap, dw, I’m not gonna let him or the congress party rest easily. I shall remind them of their this huge crime against the people of Mumbai Metropolitan Region every time they will try to play coy (or doing shanpatti as we say here). I won’t let them think people have forgotten the blood of millions of Mumbai local commuters they have on their hands.

@KolkataIndex The state govt is desperate to not let metro get built and they are not even hiding it now. They want to ensure by any means that people cannot travel easily, for their personal gain. They are single-handedly killing public transport and its future prospects.

Kolkata's Orange Line Metro isn't the only line facing delays. There's a possibility that the Purple Line's Khidirpur station will not be built, as land at Kolkata Police's Bodyguard Lines in Ekbalpore remains unavailable despite repeated pleas to the state government.
