@HairyCooIII @DaveMilbo Speaking of immature.... Are you denying their desire to open up immigration, or make sure we cover every single minority imaginable, even the made up ones? Also, considering I lived in the only Greens' council in Australia, I saw first hand what they think of driving.

Question: Why do you think the Australian Greens can't seem to bust out of the 10-14% range of the vote? Hostile media? Too beuigose? Their candidates? Their messaging? Their Their name? Is Australia just innately pro-war, pro-racism, pro-fossil fuels? The party seems stuck.

@HairyCooIII @DaveMilbo Nope. That's a great one. They have a few, actually. However, immature policies like let's open the borders and all live in harmony, or let's introduce intersectionality into broader society, or let's make it difficult to drive cars so people use other means of transport.

@padspencer @DaveMilbo So these immature policies. Like not accepting bribes from fossil fuel companies to do their bidding. Which means Australia gives away a lot of its resources for free, and remains stuck on fossil fuels with their high prices and shortages, the impact of which we are seeing now.

A mural has popped up in South Brisbane featuring Australian music icon John Farnham and a banned pro Palestinian slogan. The phrase could lead to jail time for 2 years for singing (or painting) his lyrics in a public space

@matt_barrie We should be fine. It's not like we're isolated at the arse end of the world or anything. We can buy heaps from NZ. Right?

Caddy has just run into an open goal and managed to hit the post from 5 metres out. Wow, this is just rock bottom stuff for the Bombers. Unbelievable. #AFLPowerDons

@DaveMilbo @RonniSalt @abcnews Albo and Burke know there's nothing they can say to make it right, so they sit there paralysed. Their lack of conviction and morals are completely exposed.

Footage from @abcnews this morning shows Anthony Albanese and Tony Burke booed & heckled in a western Sydney mosque. As organisers tried to keep calm, people heckled the two over their involvement in Gaza, screaming: "You don't even represent us" "What are you doing here?" .

No Kate, to be honest I think it's more like they're just asking why is The Age running this sort of shit? PS. Not a single woman I know gives a toss.

@rohan_connolly Spot on, Ro Ro. There was a time when you'd be salivating at the bit for footy to return, now they've made it feel irrelevant. Both games have been woeful and the only one that feels interesting on paper is Saints Collingwood.

Seriously, stuff Opening Round. Yeah, I'm a traditionalist, but AFL's got too clever by half drip feeding a season start to select markets & somehow diminishing the buzz around a new year. Just more 'content'. We should be lapping up every kick. But it feels ho-hum. #AFLSunsCats

@TMFScottP It's really not difficult. The more you incentivise buying houses for profit the higher prices go. If anything, there should be getting tax breaks for buying your first house. Everything else is free market.

This'll set people off, but here goes. There's something really interesting about the cultural concept of 'getting ahead' by buying an investment property. What it means, for property in particular, rather than other assets, is 'getting ahead of the other guy'. Read on... 1/n

THREAD🇺🇦: Four years ago now, "experts" and "analysts" were falling over themselves predicting Ukraine's imminent defeat. Today, when they are telling us to be "realistic" about Ukraine's prospects for victory, they are still wrong. Ukraine is winning the war. 1/25🧵

@TimWilsonMP @JEChalmers Can you imagine if this guy became treasurer? Actually, don't worry about it. It's never going to happen. As poor as Labor are right now, the LNP are so much worse, even on their best day.

The debt rot started under @JEChalmers as Wayne Swan’s adviser. Most people would be sacked for sending a nation into a trajectory of unsustainable debt. Under Labor Chalmers got promoted to Treasurer and has poured debt petrol onto the inflation bonfire. abc.net.au/news/2026-02-1…

“Cut government spending. Just not my government spending!”. 😂 The only category that has majority support for cuts is foreign aid, but look how tiny it is as a % of the total budget. The next most supported was renewable energy programs, ditto. smh.com.au/politics/feder…

Turns out smashing your own people with super aggressive policing, anti-protest laws and appalling political attacks is not sustainable for Chris Minns. Thousands opposing a genocide on Sydney’s streets were on the right side of history and this back down by Minns proves it.

"Serial rail fare evader fined £3,600 over 112 unpaid tickets" is the headline. At around £30 per trip, that's a pretty good deal But you read the story, and it's a guy that's been homeless for three years, sleeping rough on trains, in hospitals and in libraries. He's been ordered to pay the fine, but won't have to pay the £15,000 in prosecution costs, which comes from the state. And we're supposed to think our justice system is working? That £15,000 couldn't have been spent actually helping this guy, and many others like him? No, instead we'll hound someone for money they don't have. Like they do to all of us, these days. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
