AI citations are now in @ahrefs Site Explorer. You can see the numbers and changes from our Brand Radar indexes on all plans, but to see the actual mentions and citations, you'll have to subscribe to Brand Radar.

AI likes to recommend me to companies for things around technical SEO. That's not from some SEO/GEO hack. That's years of sharing my knowledge, helping people, and building my brand. Think about it.

@ahrefs @patrickstox Random thing but your MCP server on Claude consistently returns numbers three decimal places off -- i.e. $10.9M traffic value when it's actually $109k/mo. I can correct Claude over and over but wondering if there's a global fix somehow.

@patrickstox @ahrefs If it helps, Claude just said "You're right — Ahrefs returns values in cents, and I was reporting them as dollars." If you didn't return cents at all, maybe that would fix the problem. Slightly less accurate, but probably NBD.

Look, I agree with the post, but can we ALL STOP SHARING AHREFS AND SEMRUSH TRAFFIC ESTIMATIONS AS IF THEY ARE REAL. Thanks for your attention to this matter. MM.

@RyanJones @ahrefs I ran away because of this tweet. Not really. It's for a podcast. Back in a bit.

@bryanfcasey It's a matter of some pie vs no pie. But the real question is the economics of it. Does it still drive enough value via conversions or the harder to measure awareness / expertise?

Seeing a lot of cynicism around tofu content due to ai. Well guess what, actually every query type, including branded, docs, whatever has pressure. Why don’t you just do nothing? Maybe thatll work.

Random thought. SEO has always been part science and part art. The science can pretty much be automated, but the art or "taste" has staying power. Creativity matters. Authenticity matters. Knowing how to market matters. Connecting with people matters.

We're (soft) launching Agent A — a top 1% marketer on your team. And we're giving free 1-month access to all paying customers of @ahrefs! 🔥 If you wanna learn more, I broke down what Agent A is (and how it's different from just giving Claude Code access to Ahrefs' API) over on r/ahrefs. Would love to hear what you think.

Many people are changing how they work from UI to AI assistant. The @ahrefs MCP is popular. We added API on more plans. Now you get even more! Lite 25K units → 100K units 10 rows → 100 rows Standard 150K units → 400K 25 rows → 250 Adv 500K units → 1M 100 rows → 500

@AndyBeard Eh, they'll only take so much of this. And the visibility will quickly be less and less. They might add 1 or 2 unique points to main queries with it, but if people create a lot of this, most will never be seen or searched by people so they won't index that either...

@patrickstox I think Google are hinting at what will remain in their index going forward. Sure lots of content just disappears or gets buried, but there is a huge dropoff pre-2005, and even steeper pre-2000. I expect we will lise pre-2010 soon enough

Why not both? Commodity always brought traffic, although it's bringing less and less now. I've made a lot of that non-commodity content. It doesn't rank, but does often get cited in AI. Still no traffic... It gets attention on social and does pick up links though.
Cyrus Maxx@CyrusShepard

Very informative slide via Google's Danny Sullivan explaining the difference between "Commodity" vs "Non-Commodity" content Google prefers the later IMO, lots of evidence this is spot-on, not where Google is going in the future, but where it already is now via @ChouinardJC
