@mybmc @mybmcWardHW Your contractor has come and begun digging St Sebastian Cross Road for Concretization. No notice given, no plan shared, no utilities mapped. Road access to senior citizens will be blocked for almost a month. How do we get an ambulance in?

@rubenmasc Reuben, it’s useless engaging with him. He’s known to rage bait to stay relevant and get reach. The ones who suffer know. The relentless digging, choked drains, loss of tree cover and deteriorating air quality can’t be excused away by his Rage Baiting.

When you say Mumbai handles 500mm ‘with a smile’, whose smile are we talking about? On 18 August 2025, the city took roughly 177mm of rainfall in 6 to 8 hours. The result - a BMC school holiday, an IMD red alert, multiple locals cancelled, the CM asking offices to send everyone home by 4pm and a landslide in Chembur that damaged homes. All at one-third of the threshold you claim the city handles cheerfully. About the ‘stupid Andheri Subway’ you want us to scroll past. It floods because it sits in the Mogra Nullah catchment, and the Mogra Pumping Station, sanctioned at ₹393 crore in 2021 with a 24-month contract clock, still hadn’t broken ground as of Feb 2026 after the site clashed with the Versova-Dahisar Link Road. So yes, agreed, people should understand Mumbai’s geography. The BMC’s own SWD department might be a decent place to begin with. BRIMSTOWAD was conceived in 1993 to upgrade drainage capacity from 25mm/hr to 50mm/hr. Post the 26/7 deluge we had the Chitale Committee report. Three decades on, the budget has tripled, two of the eight promised pumping stations (Mogra and Mahul) are still pending and the project is roughly 80% complete. The system was never designed for 500mm in 24 hours. Nobody is running doomsday propaganda. People are reading the same IMD alerts you’d rather have them ignore. If the pumping stations meant to clear those drains haven’t been built, ‘clogged drains’ are far from the complete story.
Shivam Vahia@ShivamVahia

It is a myth that Mumbai drowns. We literally handle 500mm of rainfall in a span of 24 hours with a smile. Nothing stops. Water logging are edge cases, and pretty much all can be attributed to clogged drains. 26th July was an anomaly. Not the norm. No city can handle 900mm in 24 hours. None. Every monsoon the visuals of that stupid Andheri subway are used to spread this BS that the city drowns. It doesn't. Idiots have no idea how much we've spent on storm water drains + pumps + low-lying wave barriers to counter floods. It is an astronomical amount. And you don't see it like the coastal road because all of it is underground, bored with TBMs. Stop with the doomsday propaganda. And STFU if you don't understand Mumbai geography.

@gauravsabnis He likes living in his own immature, rage baiting echo chamber. The best thing he had done was block me for calling him out. A mature conversation can be had with someone mature enough to not take everything personally.

Q1. Guess which British slang word for “mad” comes from the Indian town of Devlali, where bored soldiers awaiting transport in the 1940s were said to lose their minds. #doolallyq

@badumtsso Bandra is Bandra. Used to be quiet, calm, breezy and peaceful, until the cafe and construction craze. Stop opening cafes every 50 ft. It’s getting ridiculous now. Come to Bandra but leave your defender at home.

A school is built by a private developer and given to BMC. In 2024. Yet it’s lying unused even today. In the world’s most expensive property market - real estate meant for public cannot be left to rot. It is a crime against citizens which must stop.

@Platypuss_10 Mostly the case when dispatched with one brake inop. This allows for the wheels to slowly spin down to a stop and reduce the stress on the gear during the retraction sequence.Another reason could be hot brakes due to no brake fans and quick turn around. Former seems the case here

This UPS Boeing 747-8 performs a steep takeoff while keeping the gear down during climb-out. 747 pilots - why keep the gear down up to that altitude after takeoff?

I know people are giving Air India grief for an incorrect aircraft dispatch with the 777, but American Airlines did the same this last year when they sent a 787-9 to Naples instead of a 787-8. Naples airport can't accept the bigger variant so the flight had to divert to Rome. This shit happens every so often, but yeah, dispatch should be more attentive. And I'm surprised that the 'smaller' variant of the 777 didn't have 'permission' to operate to Canada, since Air Canada themselves had the LR, but I guess paperwork and bureaucracy strikes across the world and each individual type needs separate approval for every airline.

🚨 OPEN LETTER TO MUMBAI AUTHORITIES 🚨 We, the citizens of Mumbai, demand a public town hall with: 🔴 @mybmc 🔴 @CMOMaharashtra 🔴 @MTPHereToHelp 🔴 @MumbaiPolice 📌 Agenda: → Hawkers blocking roads & footpaths → Pan masala spitting everywhere → Garbage dumping in open spaces → Zero enforcement of traffic rules → Abandoned vehicles on streets Thousands of complaints on social media — almost negligible action. Who is accountable? Why are citizens left fighting each other while authorities watch? @AUThackeray @Dev_Fadnavis — Mumbai deserves answers! RT if you agree.
