there’s no such thing as “+\-“ tolerance without context positional? profile? dimensional? it’s meaningless otherwise with that said, practically, you can assume profile and argue the datums later

@emm0sh In ASME Y14.5, a "feature of size" is evaluated against the perfect form at MMC and with a two-point measurement at LMC. Usually this is operationalized as a perfect form GO gage and a two point NO GO gauge. It's often called "rule #1".

Why is there a letter size system for drills? We've invented this amazing set of symbols to exactly denote sizes and it happens to not be letters.

@drivinginkorea @GoddenThomas In the US, twist drills are typically fractional inch sizes. Often in 1/64" (~.4 mm) increments. For precision metalworking you need a bit more selection, so they use American Wire Gauge sizes, too, but then there's a letter series for in between sizes bigger than #1. Also E=1/4"
