Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare, who is investigating the killing of Mexican immigrant Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, told CBS News' @camiloreports his office is filing paperwork to get visas for the witnesses of the fatal shooting, so they’re not deported while the investigation unfolds. The men, who were in the van that Salgado Araujo was driving when he was fatally shot, remain in ICE custody, facing deportation.

Today, during the Council’s public session, Mayor Whitmire announced the City has provided evidence to Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare in relation to the fatal shooting of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo by ICE agents on July 7.

ICE pause, confirmed. Per multiple sources familiar, ICE has paused most traffic stops ("non-emergency"), following pleas from lawmakers and others after multiple fatal shootings in recent days. Maine's two U.S. Senators - Angus King and Susan Collins -- have both said that they spoke with DHS Secretary Mullin in the past day. DHS has told members of both parties in Congress that it is pausing the enforcement tactic.
