@thomas_garrard I loved the entire series and spin offs. I’m surprised while skimming through the comments here that while the grok AI is being mentioned or invoked, no one has compared it to Jane (from later books). Jane was an excellent example of an AI MANY years before we had anything close.

@LanternUpdates After you posted this, I realized I needed to rewatch the trailer. For MOST of the trailer, the color palette is pretty muted… but YELLOW pops out quite a bit. Maybe I’m seeing something that isn’t there… or just maybe… it’s pointing to color of fear…

This is a real issue in the TV/Film writing arena. Any time you write an SF script they want to make it bigger. "Our heroes have to win or THE WORLD WILL BE DESTROYED!" This is problematic because a) the audience knows that in the end the world *won't* be destroyed, and --

@straczynski I think it's a problem with scale, honestly. Back in the 60s and 70s the heroes always stopped the bad guys before massive damage happened. Now we live in a world where the scale constantly has to be upped and Joker is a murder machine.

Unfortunately that's not an option. It takes years to go from being a freelancer to a showrunner. The moment you step back into being a freelancer for another showrunner, the common wisdom is that you lose nearly all that development and you'll never get it back again.

I've never been against the idea of a Blake's 7 reboot/continuation. I don't usually weigh in on the discussion though because it quickly becomes toxic. My bottom line is anything that keeps the show alive deserves support. Otherwise it'll die with its rapidly ageing fanbase.

By studying neuroscience I came up with a little theory about Time Lords that when they regenerate, everything regenerates and burns except their brain.
A body or an organ can be healed through regeneration but not the brain since memory and identity rely on stable neural
