“Night falls. Or has fallen. Why is it that night falls, instead of rising, like the dawn? Yet if you look east, at sunset, you can see night rising, not falling; darkness lifting into the sky, up from the horizon, ..." ~ M. Atwood, The Handmaid's Tale Goodnight Lovelies😘

@bruce_mcgonigal According to committee this week @MichelleRempel says that she was copied on those emails to Diab, and CPC doesn't support the program and to do away with it.🤨

🇮🇳🛬🇨🇦🚖 : Liberal MP Peter Fragiskatos says some CPC MPs have shared their support for the Liberal use of the temporary foreign worker program. 🇮🇳 Guess which CPC MPs he is speaking about. 👋 Does this mean CPC MP defections to the Liberals is not over yet? 👵 I put my top guess as to which CPC MP likely cheers on the Liberal temporary foreign worker scam, at the end of the clip.

@JJ_McCullough I think it's a ridiculous thing for the PM to bring up, especially now. If bilingualism is such an asset, a coveted thing that is SO important... Why not make it mandatory in the Canadian curriculum? K-12, and maybe, further.

Everything about official bilingualism in Canada is built on myth. People can’t “just learn” a language they don’t need. Canada isn’t “built on” two equally-sized language groups. Bilingualism isn’t “necessary” to function at an elite level. It’s all just Laurentian folklore.

Was it really so hard to see at the time?! You oversaw an immigration program that maxed out housing and healthcare, increased organized crime and violence, and flooded Canada with cheap labour. Your policy was a disgrace, and it could've been seen from a mile away. cbc.ca/news/politics/…

@Michphil1998 @grlaing Even with our help, our daughter will be $80-$100G in debt when she graduates. WE paid for it, SHE paid for it, & now she will have to pay for these folks too. Shameful that @MarkJCarney & @liberal_party have so little faith in our own Canadian children & refuse to back our own.

Our tax dollars are now paying all expenses for foreigners to come to Canada to get a certificate! Canadian students pay their full expenses or get student loans yet these invaders get to come here and live off tax dollars! 😡😡😡😡 WHY? This government is doing everything in their power to replace the Canadian population by foreigners!

🚨🇨🇦 The receipts are finally coming for the Carney government. 🏛️ U.S. investigator @nickshirleyy just confirmed Canada is his next target. While the "Adults in the Room" are vacationing in Rome, an American YouTuber is about to do the auditing they’ve been dodging for a year. The Hit List for Nick: ❌ The $26 Billion consultant bill. ❌ The 1.9 Million expiring visas with zero exit tracking. ❌ The "Indigenous" shell company scams revealed this morning. The world is watching. Let’s see how "principled" this government is under a real lens. 📉🛑 #CdnPoli #NickShirley #Canada #MarkCarney #Accountability #TaxpayerFraud

The Liberals blew $250 million on the PrescribeIT program. They are now outright cancelling the program, acknowledging it was a total failure. Why won’t they let Canadians see the contracts so we can understand how they blew $250 million before they go and do it again? What exactly are they hiding?

@cselley @DimitrisSoudas @Harry__Faulkner There was also no Audio Description for the visually impaired, No Sign Language for the hearing impaired, No Mandarin, no Filipino, no Hindi, and so on. ... This is peak Absurdity & Pettiness. The CEO, when he spoke to the victims' families, probably did use French if required.

@tlshields85 This security clearance thing is getting old. There are plenty of party leaders that have all the perceived "necessary" clearances and they do shit all with the information they're given. All this is; is another chevron on their sleeves. Useless but looks nice.

@Futbollfan @FoodProfessor If it moves, tax it. If it breathes, tax it. If it can be consumed or bought, tax it. If it can bring in billions of dollars for the government(s) to piss away, tax it. The only two things certain in life are death, and taxes.

@WayneMathison It would be fair to say that a) the working class won't get a "rebate". b) there will be actually very few people getting the 1900 they're bragging about, it'll be much less and c) there's profit to be made, or they'd not have created the program.

🤡🌎The Liberals Take $5,000… Then Hand You Back $1,900 and Call It Carney Compassion There’s a certain magic trick in politics. Not the fun kind. The kind where your wallet disappears, then reappears lighter, and the guy on stage expects applause. That’s what this “Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit” is. Mark Carney says he’s “putting money back in your pocket.” Let’s translate that into plain English. Government drives up costs through taxes, regulation, and inflation… then sends you a partial refund and expects a thank-you note. That’s not affordability. That’s damage control. The Core Problem They Won’t Admit Canada didn’t wake up one morning with high grocery prices by accident. We built this. Carbon taxes layered onto fuel, transport, and production Supply management that keeps food prices artificially high Regulatory drag that slows competition and raises costs Monetary policy that inflated everything from housing to хлеб and milk Then comes the punchline: “Here’s $1,900 to help.” That’s like flooding the basement, handing you a mop, and calling it leadership. The Illusion of Help Benefits like this feel good. That’s the point. They’re designed to hit the emotional brain, not the analytical one. Quick cash creates the illusion of relief. But step back and run the numbers: If government policy raises your annual cost of living by $3,000 to $5,000… And they give you $1,900 back… You’re still behind. Worse, now you’re dependent on the system that caused the problem. That’s not a safety net. That’s a feedback loop. The Incentive Problem Here’s the uncomfortable truth most politicians won’t say out loud: If government can fix a problem cheaply, it loses the excuse to control more of your life. So instead, we get complexity. Programs. Rebates. Credits. Transfers. Each one adds a layer. Each layer adds cost. Each cost justifies the next “benefit.” Round and round it goes. Meanwhile, the original problem, high prices, weak productivity, capital flight, stays put. What Real Affordability Looks Like Real affordability doesn’t come from cheques. It comes from removing the choke points: Lower taxes on production and energy Faster approvals to build housing and infrastructure Competitive markets instead of protected ones Stable money that doesn’t quietly erode purchasing power In other words: stop making things expensive in the first place. The Hard Line Carney’s pitch is simple: “We’ll take less from you… after we take too much.” That’s not leadership. That’s a controlled retreat from a problem they helped create. You don’t fix affordability by recycling people’s own money through Ottawa. You fix it by letting them keep it in the first place. Actionable takeaway: Next time you hear “we’re putting money back in your pocket,” ask one question: Why was it taken out in the first place?
