Metro has now crossed 100+ km operational network in Mumbai Metropolitan Region by overtaking Bengaluru and is firmly the 2nd largest in India after Delhi NCR. And lot more coming • Key stretches (including major east-west links) lined up for 2027–28 commissioning • Seamless integration across suburbs, Thane & Navi Mumbai • Multiple corridors under execution pushing towards a 337 km full network by 2030 Mumbai is finally getting the network it always deserved.

Whilst @NHAI_Official boasts of its road infrastructure across the country why is the country’s key IT corridor NH44 (formerly NH7) viz Hosur Road so shoddily designed and ill maintained? It’s an eyesore - the medians n barricades are terrible n the shoulders are not asphalted @nitin_gadkari Despite several complaints over several years there is no response. Is this what @NHAI_Official considers its proud track record? @TVMohandasPai @ELCITA_IN

In 1882, Maharaja Chamarajendra Wodeyar X of Mysore granted approximately 3,900 acres of land for the establishment of the settlement now known as Whitefield. [1] Key Details of the Grant Recipient: The land was given to the Eurasian and Anglo-Indian Association of Southern India. Purpose: It was intended to create a self-sustaining agricultural and industrial settlement for the Anglo-Indian and Eurasian communities. Initiator: The request for the land was spearheaded by David Emmanuel Starkenburgh White, the president of the association, after whom the area was subsequently named. Original Layout: The settlement was uniquely planned with a circular layout, featuring an "Inner Circle" and "Outer Circle" that are still visible today. Location: The allotted land was located in the Kadugodi area, then on the outskirts of Bangalore. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] Historical Significance The Maharaja's grant transformed what was then a remote area into a "Pensioners' Paradise" and a quiet colonial hamlet. This foundation eventually paved the way for Whitefield's 20th-century evolution into one of India's major IT and commercial hubs. [5, 6, 7, 8] Would you like to know more about the colonial landmarks still standing in Whitefield today or the history of its IT transformation? #NammaBengaluru

Finally. After years of delays, Bengaluru’s Pink Line is inching to reality. 7.5 km elevated stretch set for May 2026 commissioning, with the 13.76 km underground section targeted by year-end. A project that truly lived Murphy’s Law. Unrealistic 2021 timelines, contractor bankruptcy and rebidding, brutal tunnelling through granite & dolerite, even stumbling upon a hidden landfill while Bannerghatta Road bore a decade of construction pain with waste and debris strewn all over But worth the wait. A 21.26 km high-capacity metro corridor connecting residential/commercial hubs in Bannerghata road to Nagawara (near Manyata), stitching together Jayadeva, MG Road, Shivajinagar, Cantonment, and linking to the upcoming airport line.

Bengaluru has waited way too long for the Blue and Purple metro lines. Even now BMRCL gives shifting deadlines only because there is ZERO accountability. Meanwhile we pay the cost of delay. How? Check your fares, they are 32% higher than what it ought to be. #RollBackFares

Bengaluru’s metro story so far. Ambition vs execution. • Network: 96 km • Cost so far: ₹67,460 crore • Phase-1 cost jumped from ₹6,395 cr → ₹14,405 cr • Phase 2 revised to ₹70,425 cr • Daily ridership: 10 lakh Poor route choices, constant redesigns, political interference and delays have turned what should have been the city’s mobility backbone into one of India’s most expensive urban projects. A metro meant to decongest Bengaluru is now almost in the danger of being reduced to a case study in how not to build urban infrastructure. via @the_hindu

BMRCL's failure to build on time & leverage non-farebox revenue explains why the State Govt funded 5066 crs towards debt & cash loss support till now. Now the State Govt in cahoots with BMRCL used FFC to deftly pass this on to Bengaluru commuters via high fares. #RollBackFares

Mohandas Pai breaks down exactly why Bangalore Metro is five years late and 10,000 crores over budget. The answer is not complicated. Twenty-one CEOs in twenty-one years. IAS officers are transferred before they understand the project. Ministers who become administrators without knowing the job. And taxpayers who silently pay for every single cost overrun, while nobody is held accountable. His formula for fixing it is equally simple. Continuity, stability, knowledge, ability, and no corruption. India has none of the five right now.

The guarantee scheme is destroying the future of our youth. Lack of infrastructure, growth, investment means lesser jobs. 60%+ lack of full time faculty in govt colleges. How will our youth get a good education? Who cares for our future? Does our 77 year senior leader @siddaramaiah @CMofKarnataka really care about our youth? Compromising on our future. Restrict this to really poor @DKShivakumar
ChristinMathewPhilip@ChristinMP_

Karnataka DCM @DKShivakumar : "Govt is burdened by guarantee schemes. However, we won't stop any guarantees. We will not make any revision". He flagged misuse, stating Rs 21 crore had been transferred to accounts of deceased beneficiaries, including ration benefits. Govt is discussing safeguards. On excluding wealthy, he said some have opted out voluntarily, but no scheme will be halted.

Delays, cost overruns, slow expansion and weak state support for operating losses = higher fares. Higher fares = slower adoption. We can’t build a mass transit system on premium pricing in a city desperate to decongest. via @timesofindia

The failure of govt in @OfficialBMRCL @BMTC_BENGALURU @RLR_BTM Minister who refuses to listen, put citizens first and our @CMofKarnataka @siddaramaiah who believes that guarantees are the solution to our future is hurting Bengaluru very badly. CM sir please put citizens first. Please help @DKShivakumar We need mass transport at scale, does not matter who provides. We need a better Metro management not this failed one with delays, huge cost escalation, bad management, no accountability @DKShivakumar

The only practical solution to Bengaluru’s traffic nightmare is reliable and affordable public transport and mass rapid transit systems. When metro fares become irrational, citizens are forced back to private vehicles bringing it back to square one. Instead of wasting thousands of crores on real estate vanity projects such as the Tunnel road, the state government should invest on efficient mass mobility aimed at transporting people. It is high time the State Government asks for a new fare Fixation Committee ensuring logical and commuter friendly metro pricing taking the interests of the people into priority. #NammaMetro #PriceHikeBeda timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/bengaluru…
