We've raised $6.5M to kill vector databases. Every system today retrieves context the same way: vector search that stores everything as flat embeddings and returns whatever "feels" closest. Similar, sure. Relevant? Almost never. Embeddings can’t tell a Q3 renewal clause from a Q1 termination notice if the language is close enough. A friend of mine asked his AI about a contract last week, and it returned a detailed, perfectly crafted answer pulled from a completely different client’s file. Once you’re dealing with 10M+ documents, these mix-ups happen all the time. VectorDB accuracy goes to shit. We built @hydra_db for exactly this. HydraDB builds an ontology-first context graph over your data, maps relationships between entities, understands the 'why' behind documents, and tracks how information evolves over time. So when you ask about 'Apple,' it knows you mean the company you're serving as a customer. Not the fruit. Even when a vector DB's similarity score says 0.94. More below ⬇️

We're excited to partner with @perplexity_ai on their latest release. We were impressed with how performant their new Deep Research product was on early benchmarks and are thrilled that this work is being open sourced.

F4 (@F4_Industries) helps hardware teams 10x how they redline and interpret engineering drawings. With experience from Tesla & SpaceX, F4 is building a platform that treats drawings like code—instantly validating them against GD&T standards.

Founders have an incredibly difficult job. Creating something from nothing is insanely hard. I try to provide more than just capital and be as useful as possible in removing barriers so founders can focus on building. It’s a privilege to be working with unapologetically ambitious founders like @weberwongwong
weber@weberwongwong

enough about forward-deployed engineers we need more forward-deployed angels was thinking about this because one of our angels Umesh Khanna (@forwarddeploy) has just been pulling up on Sundays and going deep with us on the product problems we're dealing with, designing growth loops, sharpening our "aha" moments and more. It’s been super helpful very lucky to have him aboard the FLORA cap table

3 things I learned from being shameless at AI startup school: 1. embarrass yourself. being a student is a cheat code bc you can pull shameless stunts and no one will bat an eye. wish I did it more in undergrad, making up for it in grad school 2. mindshare > everything. YC gave us $500 to fly to SF not for vibes, but so they’re your first call when you’re ready to build. brilliant move @ycombinator 3. what’s up with all the mullets
