In 2024 mothers in the workforce only make 75 cents to every dollar our male counterparts do and that number goes even lower for BIPOC women and down to 65 cents when it's part time. Tag ur elected officials to ask for stronger laws for gender equality and fair pay for caretakers

People who enter our city jails will eventually return home. Therefore, what occurs in our jails is critical to public safety. People in extended isolation experience psychological and physical distress and are more likely to harm themselves or others. This makes us less safe.🧵

Mayor Adams and his administration today continued to argue that solitary confinement has not occurred in New York City jails since 2019. That is in stark contrast to reality. New Yorkers like Brandon Rodriguez, Elijah Muhammad and Erick Tavira have lost their lives and their families have been devastated by this continued use of isolation. By any name, solitary confinement kills.
