@SenatorKimWard @SEPTA There’re doing the same thing the union does. Manufacturing a crisis right before school starts and get the local media to hype it up. What is no one talking about how much funding @SEPTA already gets?! Open the books!!!

The transit “crisis” is not real. SEPTA’s “death spiral” talk is holding Pennsylvanians hostage. The Senate passed legislation to provide immediate, existing, available funds. @SEPTA did NOT respond to questions but continues to threaten transit disruptions for school kids.
TribLIVE.com@TribLIVE

The highest-ranking Republican in the state Senate described the looming service cuts and fare hikes at Pennsylvania’s largest transit agency as a “manufactured crisis” that doesn’t need to happen. @FontainePGH triblive.com/news/pennsylva…

@YouTube how are y'all gonna sell season passes for Resident Alien season 4, then not post the whole season, and then deny refund requests? I had to buy it again on another platform and the my refund request got denied. Never buying a season pass on YouTube again

@VincentJCurtis1 @the_transit_guy no, it's where poor people lived because the rivers were polluted and post-industrial and highway construction was billed as a way to "solve" urban poverty and traffic in one swoop

@the_transit_guy When this interchange was planned, likely 50 years ago, the space around it was likely empty, or ripe for urban renewal demolition.

It’s incredible that we’ve built massive highway interchanges right on the waterfronts of major cities in this country. Just total madness.

how is it 2025 and @UPS / @FedEx still can't just have an app that gives you a push notification when the truck is ~15 mins out and then shows you it on a map "out for delivery between 7am and 7pm and you better catch when we tap on the door once" really???

@wackawackaETM @JohnnyWalsh__ did you miss the part where 42% of the state's budget comes from the region SEPTA serves? Public transit is a critical part of that economic engine. SEPA is the one bailing out rural PA. They wouldn't have roads or police or healthcare without us. Biting the hand that feeds

@Cris49048966 @RepScottPerry your districts are net recipients of state funds while the region served by SEPTA is a net contributor—and SEPTA is a major reason why Your constituents didn't elect you to bite the hand that literally feeds them

People waiting for better coding models don't realize that the quadratic time and space complexity of self-attention hasn't gone anywhere. If you want an effective 1M token context, you need 1,000,000,000,000 dot products to be computed for you for each of your requests for new code. Right now, you get this unprecedented display of generosity because some have billions to kill Google while Google spends billions not to be killed. Once the dust settles down, you will start receiving a bill for each of those 1,000,000,000,000 dot products. And you will not like it.

@JimMarhevka @elonmusk @SenWhitehouse People who know the fields he babbles in know that he's wrong 99% of the time, because he doesn't fundamentally care about being right he cares about getting likes on Twitter You're lauding the tiny faction of cases where it was immediately obvious how wrong he was

@elonmusk When he makes a mistake, he corrects it quickly, unlike these radical politicians who hate the cuts, takes money away from their families and friends, just ask, @SenWhitehouse His wife's sure made lots of money, but its just another conflict of interest ignored by Congress

@JimMarhevka @elonmusk @SenWhitehouse It doesn't bother you at all that he didn't have the most fundamental detail of "which system is the current one" straight before deciding and announcing that the best solution was for him to be in charge of it and his company to get contracts?

$1.9 billion of HUD money was just recovered after being misplaced during the Biden administration due to a broken process. These funds were earmarked for the administration of financial services, but were no longer needed. @SecretaryTurner and @DOGE worked together to fix the issue and de-obligated the funds which are now available for other use by the Treasury. @HUDgov @SecTurnerPress

@AIBuzzNews @kimmonismus I don't know who "the AI space" is, but those of us using LLM's to ship code and build business applications know exactly where Anthropic is

Claude 4 in the coming weeks, here is what we know from The Information: • Hybrid AI Model: Anthropic is developing a model that blends traditional language model capabilities with advanced reasoning, adjusting computational intensity based on the task. • Dynamic Computation Control: Unlike OpenAI’s fixed “low-medium-high” reasoning settings, Anthropic’s model allows developers to fine-tune how much computational power is used via a sliding scale. • Focus on Enterprise: The model is tailored for businesses, offering flexibility in cost, speed, and efficiency. Competition with OpenAI • OpenAI’s GPT-4.5 (Orion LLM): OpenAI is following Anthropic’s lead by merging its reasoning and non-reasoning models into one. • Coding Performance: Anthropic’s model excels in practical software engineering tasks, handling complex codebases and producing functional code more reliably than OpenAI’s models. • Pricing Uncertainty: The cost of Anthropic’s new model remains unknown, but OpenAI’s recent releases suggest an industry trend toward price reductions. "Anthropic’s new hybrid model gives customers the ability to control how much computational resources it spends on a query—in other words, how long it will “reason” about that problem, the person said"

DOGE’s attempt to bulldoze its way into classified systems is part of a broader agenda to dismantle US foreign aid and soft power. Broligarchs don’t get an all-access pass to America’s most sensitive info—our security and global leadership are not for sale.
Alex Marquardt@MarquardtA

NEW: Top USAID security officials put on leave after DOGE officials showed up last night demanding entry. Threatened to call US Marshals, looking to access to security systems, personnel files and classified information, sources tell @jmhansler & me cnn.com/2025/02/02/pol…
