A cool site because it curates the personal content of the user in one place from Twitter. Eg: check out the “Contents” tab (linked to below) then “Posts” tab then everything else from @DavidDeutschOxf here upcarta.com/profile/DavidD…

Great piece. As somebody who was way more into acting than journalism until my 20s, it rings true. theatlantic.com/magazine/archi… There are great Method actors. But it's often a nightmare for the cast, a cover for jerks, and an infusion of workism into a profession that should be fun.

@MatthewWSiu I've not found the "how to be more creative" genre terribly fruitful myself, but some of the "creativity research" work has been pretty interesting. Klein's "Seeing What Others Don't" might be a nice starting point there if you haven't seen.

And what's even awesomer is that now Japanese fashion trends will spring up trying to imitate this "overseas gamer aesthetic" and also not quite getting it right, which will inspire more American imitators, etc. etc...
angie@Scarletwktk

?!? WE’VE COME FULL CIRCLE I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS - AMERICAN WEEB AESTHETIC IS SO FAR OFF FROM ACTUAL JAPANESE FASHION TRENDS THAT JAPANESE PEOPLE CALL IT OVERSEAS GAMER AESTHETIC WHEN THEY TRY AND GO FOR THAT LOOK

@mollyfmielke I don't think any really have its mystique, though of course there are many other great books. It's pretty interesting, actually, that no others seem to have the same cultural vibe. SICP is just so singular.
