@Nobbie2020 @BobFromAccounts @CityWestminster Yes. As you rightly point out, it’s so few cars yet they occupy half of the road. We are just used to seeing this happen everywhere that we don’t stop and realise how ridiculous it is, and how few people it benefits.

Hey @CityofVancouver⁩ this is second incident I’ve seen caused by these useless ‘slow street’ barricades installed last month. They don’t slow down traffic; they cause crashes and traffic chaos.

@willnorman @MayorofLondon Please don't speak for me; I've just had to cash in my pension 10 years early so I can try to find a car so I can get to work and ferry my disabled relative around. I can't do either on a bike and our air here is clean; data proves this daily.

Fantastic to see 100s & 100s of women from all over London calling for more cycle routes, safer streets & cleaner air. The majority of Londoners want more of these measures. That’s why @MayorofLondon & I are committed to making our streets safer & air cleaner for everyone.

@loadarubbis @kidkaratemusic @HarryHamishGray Its not though - in the Netherlands kids cycling to school wont wear one. People wear a helmet (unless legally required to) as a resonance to risk. Racing car - helmet, drive to work - not. Rock-climbing - helmet, bouldering - not. Sport cycling - helmet, around town - not.

Channel 5 News' Dan Walker was involved in a horrific crash with a car yesterday and was knocked unconscious. Thankfully he has no major injuries and has stated that his cycle helmet saved his life. So, should they be compulsory wearing for all cyclists?

@sp_jimbob @joncstone The point is that if you make it very cheap for people to store their cars taking up valuable public space for far less than the value of the public space, then you’re advocating car ownership.

@updates_cycle @joncstone but it’s not available for commuters to park in? Residents permit parking is zoned, you have to live in that zone to get a permit. Great if you only need to commune 500 yards down the road in the same zone.

@tomhfh Dense housing within 5 minutes of all basic amenities and a tube station would be great. When housing is in such short supply this would help, without increasing cars.

We should fill in the gap.

@NFBUK You know that under the Highway Code now drivers should stop for pedestrians going straight at junctions? Or do we only care if it’s bikes who are breaking the rules, which they shouldn’t be.

Farringdon Street by the Italian Embassy, London. It’s a 2-way cycle lane bus stop bypass. Cyclists are seen not stopping for pedestrians at zebra crossing & riding over it while pedestrians are crossing. When some did stop, 1 carried on past 2 pedestrians on the zebra crossing.

The cycle lobby say they would never ask for bus lanes to be removed, nor discriminate against disabled people. Here’s a chance for them to demonstrate that. The @MayorofLondon, @willnorman and @TfL propose exactly this with their latest ‘temporary’ bike lane on the A503.

@dannyjamesjohn @MarkMooseOwen @PunchlineGlos Sure, it’s not as important and infrastructure within Chelt or Glos but you might want to check the plans. The A40 is the major route between the two, this is going along the B4063.
