One of the most masculine things you can do is to serve others, particularly your wife and kids. Don’t let anyone tell you different.

Hi y'all I don't like posting this again, but I need to be honest and ask for help. As of this morning, I'm $350 short on rent due Tuesday evening. If anyone can help in any amount or repost, it truly does add up. Thank you. linktr.ee/aquinasbear

Hi y'all, it is early Sunday morning, and I'm still short on rent due by Tuesday afternoon. I know it's Lent and times are tight, and I don't ask easily and not without some shame. I'm trying to stay focused on studies and then finding work, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't stressed. I'm up in the middle of the night trying to keep moving forward. If you can repost my pinned Tweet or help in any way, I would be deeply grateful. I could use your prayers as well, especially today. Thank you for reading. God bless. 🙏🧸 @TridentineBrew @MrCasey62 @MrsCasey6 @RadMothering @PatrioticApe @rpuffinstuff2 @FredSimonTLM @DreamJeanie73 @ravenousreader @CharlesDFraune @disciple96 @Magister_Mondo @TheCrushedBones @ProtecttheFaith @jshocds @JeffCassman @johnamonaco @Ilegvm @RalphCapocci @NovusOrdoWatch @chesterbelloc3 @FrDEMeikle @Catholicizm1 @Jphamilton1 @DrShayPhD @FatherTF @EVR_Forge @MarkElliottSmi1 @gonefishin1948 @NYCatholicRadio @therealjoshmc @EdsPurgatory @Catholicizm1 @OGamericana @juventutemDC

The algorithm has been kind to me as of late, but it hasn’t been great for my blood pressure. When the same 24 of you wonderful people see my posts, the comment section is always so very nice. When things even go “semi-viral” the weirdos and bots come out. I compulsively feel the need to smack them down, and I always take the bait. *sighs*

@samwise_master It's not anti-capitalist. You bought it didn't you? You bought the DLC too, I bet. You bought everything in that game.

Is Cyberpunk 2077 anti-capitalist? If you say yes, you would have to admit it is also anti-technology. The world we are shown is thrown into chaos because everyone has been fed a steady diet of implants, chips, and every kind of futuristic tech that supposedly makes life better, but really just makes it much, much worse. Because it turns the focus of each and every person inward. No longer do we care about others; we just care about modifying ourselves until we have cut away all that displeased us. This is, perhaps, a natural evolution of our current technology. Think of the ridiculous popularity of GLP-1s, which are largely a shortcut, an easy and painless way for people to lose weight. Who cares if it robs you of the joy of food? You get to be THIN(er)! Isn't that wonderful? It's not too great a leap in logic to think that people would happily replace their weak legs (and I mean ones that just need a few good lifts, not those that have atrophied from disease) or myopic eyes with artificial ones that function better than any normal human's would. Does this mean Cyberpunk is against any form of technological advancement? Does the game's philosophy propose we return to the stone age? Of course not. Don't be ridiculous. In the same vein, it is a silly claim to say that 2077 is anti-capitalist because it shows a world where free enterprise has run amok and greedy megacorps dominate and ruin the lives of the individual. Is that a vision of what capitalism could become? Absolutely. But it is hardly a criticism against the basic idea of goods and services being privately owned. T-Bug, one of the characters in the early game, quotes Aristotle's Politics: "...the greatest crimes are caused by excess and not by necessity." You might think those words are meant as an accusation against the greedy executives who rule this world. And you wouldn't be wrong. But in the context of Politics, they are actually part of Aristotle's reasoning as to why state-sponsored Communism (equalization of property, as he terms it), does not work. "...men always want more and more without end; for it is of the nature of desire not to be satisfied, and most men live only for the gratification of it." Even if men have as much as their neighbors, even if all their needs are met, Aristotle argues, they will want more. I think history bears him out. So unless the writers of 2077 were completely unaware of the context of that quote, it's quite clear that the game is not the anti-capitalist, pro-communist story some denizens of the internet might have you think it is. Instead, it's a story about humanity, about how we lose it when we turn our attention inward, focusing exclusively on our own pleasures and desires. And how we can only reclaim that lost humanity by looking outside ourselves, by seeking to serve something greater than ourselves.

Good to remember Ecclesiastes 1:9 What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Don't get blackpilled or rosepilled: Sin is everywhere, but it has been since the Fall, and the victory of Christ is already assured.

@Andrewnsnyder I’ve been a night shower guy all my life. I can’t imagine not having that time to unwind at day’s end. Plus, I don’t want to go to bed dirty.

After spending (nearly) my entire life up to this point as a morning shower guy, I think I'm converting to night showers. It's a whole new world.

So, Star Wars prequels... They're bad movies. Yes, you probably liked them when you were 8, or 10, or whatever. It's okay to admit you were wrong then. I was wrong too.

@GregOwenYT Bro thank you. I watched Bugonia a couple of weeks ago and left with the exact same feeling. It was kind of interesting, until it decided to be absolute dogshit.

It's time to watch Best Picture nominees again. The video better be worth this self-inflicted torture. Today's turd: Bugonia. Holy shit, I want my two hours back. Jesse Plemmons plays a weird conspiracy guy with a cousin who is clearly mentally disabled. They kidnap Emma Stone, because they think she's an alien. Is he a crazy guy? Is he disturbed because a local police officer molested him as a boy? Is he actually just mad because Stone's biotech company's experimental drug didn't cure his mom? Is he a serial killer, who has tortured multiple people to death in his basement and autopsied them? In the end, we discover that he is all of those things, but also that he was correct and Stone is indeed an alien. She and the other aliens, who are dressed in arm-crocheted thick yarn body suits (seriously), decide that the expirement on earth has failed and they pop a bubble over a model of the planet (which is flat) and the movie ends with scenes of people all over the world who have fallen over, dead. Roll credits. What. The. Actual. Fuck. Not sure what the theme was supposed to be. It opens and closes with bees, Plemmons is an apiarist, the movie name is a flower. So..... Something, something, something, bees are dying, humans bad? I have no clue, and I don't think anyone involved did either.
