It's no longer enough for CEOs to manage organizations operationally efficiently and successfully 💡 In the age of artificial intelligence, the expectations of customers, partners, and employees are constantly increasing. CEOs need to consider responsible AI practices to ensure that their organizations operate ethically, transparently, and in compliance with regulations. By implementing responsible AI strategies, leaders can build trust with their stakeholders, mitigate risks, and enhance their company's reputation. How can CEOs approach this task❓ Advertisement/ To help CEOs stay on top of the fast-shifting changes, the IBM Institute for Business Value (IBM IBV) has released a series of targeted, research-backed guides to generative AI, including Responsible AI & ethics. ➡️ Three things every leader needs to know: - CEOs can’t pass the buck on AI ethics - Customers are judging every decision you make. Don’t jeopardize their trust. - Some companies freeze in the headlights of regulatory ambiguity ➡️ Three things every leader needs to do right now: - Give ethics teams a seat at the table — not an unfunded mandate - Earn trust by aligning with customer expectations - Bake in ethics and regulatory preparedness for all AI and data investments ➡️ You can delve deeper here: ibm.biz/IBVCEOGenAI /Advertisement Prioritizing responsible AI is not only a moral imperative but also a strategic business decision for CEOs in today's rapidly evolving technological landscape. What is your opinion on responsible AI❓ --- P.S. We've taken a big step forward when it comes to artificial intelligence 💯 I've often pointed out that 2024 is the year of regulations. When it comes to AI, the European Parliament voted on the EU AI Act (#EUAIAct) last week. That was also urgently necessary to prioritize ethical considerations in the development and deployment of AI technologies to prevent discrimination, bias, and other harmful outcomes. What does this mean for CEOs❓ 📌 A vital consideration is to establish processes to explain how AI systems lead to specific decisions or outcomes to ensure transparency for users and regulators. 📌 Another core aspect is the implementation of mechanisms to provide explanations upon request, particularly in cases where AI systems affect individual rights or freedoms. 📌 Additionally, CEOs must integrate human oversight mechanisms to monitor AI systems and intervene when necessary to prevent errors or harmful consequences. To meet these requirements, CEOs may need to invest in AI governance structures, training programs for employees, and mechanisms for addressing AI-related risks. Advertisement/ In this context, I took a closer look at IBM's watson.governance. 3 points stand out: 1️⃣ To govern any kind of models, e.g. traditional Machine Learning models developed with any kind of technologies — IBM, open-source, or others, across the entire AI lifecycle by consolidating multiple tools, applications, and platforms. 2️⃣ To manage risk and adhere to compliance standards (internal and external) by automating workflows to better detect fairness, bias, and data drift. 3️⃣ To provide a Center of AI Excellence. Over 1,000 IBM Consultants specialized in Generative AI to help organizations adopt and scale AI safely, detecting and mitigating risks, and providing education and guidance. With the ongoing series “The CEO’s Guide to Generative AI,” the IBM Institute for Business Value provides information on how organizations can gain a competitive advantage by applying responsible AI and ethics centered around human values. ➡️ You can delve deeper here: ibm.co/46IPBig /Advertisement In the race to unlock the full potential of generative AI, it's imperative for CEOs to keep trust, integrity, and ethics top of mind. With the passage of the EU AI Act, there's a lot to do for CEOs and their organizations in the coming months. Let me hear your thoughts 👋 #AIethics #DigitalTransformation #CEO #IBMpartners Cc @pchamard @enilev @Khulood_Almani @antgrasso @GlenGilmore @Shi4Tech @CurieuxExplorer @FrRonconi @chidambara09 @theomitsa @PawlowskiMario @labordeolivier @Analytics_699 @RosyCoaching @AlbertoEMachado @drsharwood @Nicochan33 @FGraillot @nafisalam @efipm @KanezaDiane @smaksked @Corix_JC @Chels_LA @segundoatdell @amalmerzouk @stratorob @CyrilCoste @EstelaMandela @sonu_monika @RLDI_Lamy @SpirosMargaris @JagersbergKnut @IanLJones98 @AkwyZ @jeancayeux @psb_dc @FinMKTG @ipfconline1 @baski_LA @avrohomg @helene_wpli @sallyeaves @bimedotcom @HaroldSinnott @c4trends @mvollmer1 @BetaMoroney
