Mumbai’s skywalks, built at a cost of around Rs 900 crore to ease pedestrian movement, largely fell into disuse over time. Poor upkeep, dark stretches, and broken infrastructure made them unsafe, especially for women. Many commuters chose busy roads instead, citing fear of anti-social activity and lack of security. आदरणीय कमिशनर मॅडम @AshwiniBhide मुलुंड पश्चिम येथील विभाग क्रमांक 103 मधील स्वप्ननगरी येथे योगी हिल्स कडे जाणाऱ्या रस्त्याचे काँक्रीटाईजेशन करताना अर्धा रस्ता खणून झाल्यानंतर त्या महापालिकेच्या अभियंता आणि अधिकाऱ्यांच्या लक्षात आले की तो रोड handover takeover झालेलाच नाही. बृहन्मुंबई महानगरपालिकेने मुंबई महानगरातील पायाभूत सुविधांचा दर्जा उंचावण्यासाठी व्यापक स्वरुपात नियोजन केले आहे. नागरिकांना खड्डेमुक्त रस्ते उपलब्ध व्हावेत यासाठी रस्त्यांचे सिमेंट काँक्रिटीकरण प्रकल्प दोन टप्प्यांमध्ये हाती घेतला आहे. काँक्रिटीकरणाची कामे विहित वेळेत आणि गुणवत्तापूर्ण पद्धतीने करण्यात यावीत, असे निर्देश बृहन्मुंबई महानगरपालिका आयुक्त श्रीमती अश्विनी भिडे यांनी दिले आहे. रस्ते सिमेंट काँक्रिटीकरण प्रकल्पात गुणवत्तेसह पारदर्शकता आणण्यासाठी बृहन्मुंबई महानगरपालिकेने ‘डॅश बोर्ड’ सर्वांसाठी खुला आहे. हा डॅशबोर्ड roads.mcgm.gov.in/publicdashboard या लिंकवर उपलब्ध आहे. रस्ते सिमेंट काँक्रिटीकराची सद्यस्थिती याद्वारे नागरिकांना समजणार आहे. त्यामुळे रस्ते गुणवत्तेबाबत अधिक दक्ष राहणे गरजेचे आहे. सध्या सुरू असलेल्या रस्त्यांची कामे दिनांक ३१ मे २०२६ पर्यंत पूर्ण होतील, याची दक्षता घेण्याचे निर्देश श्रीमती भिडे यांनी दिले आहेत. 🔹महानगरपालिका आयुक्त श्रीमती भिडे रस्ते काँक्रिटीकरण प्रकल्पाची आढावा बैठक घेतली. यावेळी अतिरिक्त महानगरपालिका आयुक्त (प्रकल्प) श्री. अभिजीत बांगर, उप आयुक्त (पायाभूत सुविधा) श्री. गिरीश निकम, उप आयुक्त (आयुक्त कार्यालय) श्री. प्रशांत गायकवाड, प्रमुख अभियंता (रस्ते) श्री. मंतय्या स्वामी आदींसह अभियंते उपस्थित होते. 🔹रस्ते सिमेंट काँक्रिटीकरण प्रकल्पाच्या टप्पा १ आणि टप्पा २ अंतर्गत २,११८ रस्त्यांचे (लांबी ६९१.०८ किलोमीटर) सिमेंट काँक्रिटीकरण करण्यात येत आहे. या अंतर्गत ७१ टक्के रस्त्यांचे काँक्रिटीकरण पूर्ण झाले आहे. सिमेंट काँक्रिटीकरण पूर्ण झालेले, प्रगतिपथावर असलेले आणि लवकरच काँक्रिटीकरण सुरू होणाऱ्या रस्त्यांची माहिती ‘डॅश बोर्ड’वर स्वतंत्र रकान्यात देण्यात आली आहे. नागरिकांनी या लिंकच्या सहाय्याने आपल्या जवळच्या रस्ते काँक्रिटीकरण प्रकल्पाबाबत माहिती घ्यावी, असे आवाहन बृहन्मुंबई महानगरपालिकेने केले आहे. 🔗डॅश बोर्डची लिंक : roads.mcgm.gov.in/publicdashboard #mybmcupdates @CMOMaharashtra @mieknathshinde @SunetraA_Pawar @ShelarAshish @MPLodha @TawdeRitu @misanjayghadi

Barricades, dug-up roads and zero access — is this how basic public services are treated? I was posted in Panaji and lived in Caranzalem for 2 years. There was absolutely no city transport buses from Karmali to Panaji, Thivim to Panaji, Panaji to Dabolim and Madgaon. There is a strong private taxi lobby. Goa police and Ministers are helpless against. Few years Goa Miles started however I don't know the present status.

@BharatJSoni @bhaumikgowande @GovtofGoa @goacm I mean I have seen these EV buses only for the Panjim city and not at any other places of Goa. Like the main connection from Goan Railway stations till City Centre (Thivim-Panjim & Madgaon-Panjim), didn’t saw such buses although some people claim they do exist.

Goa has done a great job by getting multiple ring route with their EV buses. Series of 2 buses for each route (clockwise & anticlockwise) so one doesn’t have to go all the way around for just a few kilometres. Next step would be to connect capital city with railway stations.

Thank you @srdencomumbaicr for the clarification. While the work may be as per approved GAD, the ground reality is that commuters are facing daily inconvenience due to the missing direct connectivity to the booking office. Planning should ultimately serve commuter convenience, not just technical compliance.
