@RyanMalphrus @jewstein3000 I'd still disagree. I think the better, more altruistic providers would be in network with many insurances in order to be accessible to patients who need them, as opposed to those who are completely fee for service, and thus self selecting a wealthier patient pool. 🤷♀️

Just tried my seventh therapist. During the 15 minute consult, I told her I was looking for someone who didn't make the session about themselves. She promised she would never do that.
First session, she's offended when I ask her not to talk about herself. I had to report this.

@RyanMalphrus @jewstein3000 My most recent, most fantastic therapist left for a new practice that doesn't take my abysmal insurance. (Happy for her advancement, devastated for me.)
Some good therapists take insurance because they value patient care and patient access.

@TanningChatumm @danidonovan I used to sleep...then perimenopause stole that from me. I sleep in 2-4 hour chunks, and hopefully accumulate enough chunks to function the next day...

For the kids who waited until the last minute to write an essay and then just word vomited onto the paper and turned it in unedited and still got one of the top grades, are you diagnosed with ADHD and neurodivergent now? Or are you a writer?

@jewstein3000 I've had a...large number of therapists, and none of them have talked much about themselvesat all. My last (and favorite) only mentioned two details as a way of providing context and connection.

This profession is all filled with people who talk about themselves. It's some kind of bizarre trend, and I don't understand why anyone would want this! I don't want to know ANYTHING about you unless I ask! I'm paying for my time.

A friend found these kittens behind a Bay Area gas station. They are tame, vaccinated, and incredibly affectionate. Unfortunately, she's unable to keep them and I'm trying to find them a home. They are at risk of going to a shelter. Bay Area people, are you open to adopting?
