@SandyofCthulhu IIRC, their a lot of manuscripts and books from the 1300s onwards that would show men with disabilities doing tasks at camp so that more able bodied men could remain in fighting form.

Another take may come from this: in English sailing lore, the cooks are frequently sailors who’ve lost a leg. (Long John Silver signs on as a cook, even.) The crew wants to reward their comrade, and a one-legged man can’t climb the rigging or pull on cables. Similarly, a lame man can’t hunt, is worse at riding, and can’t handle a plow as well. But he can be powerfully strong. So a job where you stay in one place all day - i.e., a smith - makes sense. This could have become traditional - it’s a way for clubfoots or cripples to make a real contribution to the clan. It may also explain the connection between dwarfs and metalworking. And it may have even gotten its start back in the neolithic - we know cripples were kept alive by both Neanderthals and Cro-magnon. Seems like they could keep helping in flint-knapping.

@welchy3319 I'm not saying that no good teams exist in the West... What I am saying is that the East is far more competitive at the moment.

@WeGhoStyle @WorldBriefingX @sentdefender Really and why did the fight start in the first place? Oh that's right. The Arab world got it's teeth kicked in, so they resorted to using insurgent groups.

According to Fox News, citing two U.S. officials, Vice President JD Vance’s final offer delivered to the Iranian delegation in Islamabad last night, prior to the breakdown of peace talks between the two countries mediated by Pakistan, consisted of the following demands: 1. End all uranium enrichment 2. Dismantle all major nuclear enrichment facilities 3. Retrieve highly enriched uranium 4. Accept a broader peace, security and de-escalation framework that includes regional allies 5. End funding for terrorist proxies Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis 6. Fully open the Strait of Hormuz, charging no tolls for passage

@WeGhoStyle @WorldBriefingX @sentdefender Don't bitch when the invading force bombs you in return for shooting rockets at random towns on the border areas. You act like this isn't a 2-way street. Israel is gonna stir shit because Hezbollah and Hamas are trogs who constantly pick fights.

@JSkylynx @WorldBriefingX @sentdefender Why can’t they fund people fighting against invading forces? You couldn’t name a single group that Iran funds that came about randomly and with no foreign or outside interference

@hamzapatel007 @WorldBriefingX @sentdefender IDK, maybe Iran should stop funneling arms to groups that have been constantly launching rockets at Israel, and therefore starting the ongoing genocide in Gaza. It's takes two retards to fuck up a Tango.

@sentdefender If this is accurate, this wasn’t a negotiation - it was a maximalist demand list. Hard to see how talks could succeed with terms like these on the table. I broke this down into a short, clear summary.

@AlJenko98 @B52Returns @Gryffix and if we are talking much more localized like say just going from Pittsburgh to Buffalo. One way. That's still $120 for train w/ 12hrs... or I could just drive. Most of our trains are that bad.

@AlJenko98 @B52Returns @Gryffix Realistically? Yeah. Lets say I wanna travel from Minot to Buffalo. It'd be $500 and I'd be traveling about 64hr roundtrip. Or I fly by plane at ~$450 and it's only 14hrs roundtrip.

I'm sorry but that's nonsense. Large countries have high speed rails? It's more about taxes and what you use them for than country size. If you can build 20 lane high ways you can build a rail.
