Since there is a lot of discussion about folks on 200k incomes, I put together this. What proportion of a mortgage on a median priced Sydney house could someone on 200k afford, adjusted for inflation In 1998, this hypothetical household could afford 1.93 median house mortgages As of the latest data this household can only afford 0.71 mortgages. This illustrates nicely the reality of high housing prices. In the late 90s and very early 2000s, this household could have had a palatial home. In 2024, they can't even comfortably afford the median.

New subscriber this am ($247/m) cancelled in 10 mins. ~6 months ago I started revoking access to the platform immediately when cancelled (listed in T&C). People that do this DO NOT value your product & are NOT the subs you want. I refunded.. Is this the wrong approach?

Adding GitHub comments to individual lines in your own PR is pro level. And no, I don’t think they should be comments in the code. The point of PR comments is to talk about the *change*, not the code itself. This only makes sense with both old and new code visible side-by-side.

I'm not saying you have to be equally skilled at everything. It's fine to have an affinity, and you *should* go deep in at least one area (the famous T-shaped engineer thing). But accruing breadth and fluency is the best way to increase your value as an engineer.
