Having served at the #UnitedNations in Peace keeping Operations I am of the considered view that The Choke point of #Hormuz can be brought under International #PeaceKeeping and #PeaceBuilding measures by a Coalition of Naval forces in which #maritimecountries contribute. Just as they do in Peace Keeping inside many countries. It needs a #SecurityCouncil resolution. And all that is required. It’s in the urgent interest of world peace. Today, the UK convened representatives from more than 40 countries to discuss the Strait of Hormuz, and the urgent need to restore freedom of navigation for international shipping, and see the Strait reopened once more.

@BMeinl @araghchi Should talk to Israel about their nuclear program. The food security of Palestinians are on hold coz Israel had been blocking aide. It needs to be addressed first, this started recently because of US-Israel, that started much earlier.

I had a call with the Foreign Minister of Iran Abbas @araghchi . We discussed the situation in Iran and the spiralling escalation in the Middle East. Diplomatic solutions and de-escalation are urgently needed. I emphasized the need to end the strikes on neighbouring countries and restore freedom of navigation in the Strait Hormuz especially regarding the humanitarian aspect of global food security with a focus on fertilizers and other essential goods. Regarding the Iranian nuclear program Austria supports any diplomatic way forward that leads to a new agreement and full cooperation with the @iaeaorg . In times like this it is important to maintain dialogue.
