As part of the Outcomes Finance Alliance (OFA) Summit 2026 in Cape Town, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) and Minister of State for Education, Government of India, participated in a thought-provoking panel on “Unlocking Public-Private Funding for Outcomes,” emphasising how innovative financing models can accelerate investments in human capital and skills for the future. The day also saw constructive bilateral engagements. In a meeting with Alejandro Guerrero, Head of OECD Development Impact at the Development Co-operation Directorate, discussions focused on strengthening partnerships around impact-driven development, skills financing, and scalable models for workforce transformation. Further conversations with Hon. Nonceba Mhlauli, Deputy Minister in the Presidency, and Dr Mimmy Gondwe, Deputy Minister for Higher Education and Training, South Africa, explored opportunities to deepen collaboration in skills, youth empowerment, and future-ready workforce development between India and South Africa. As the global conversation around development increasingly shifts from inputs to outcomes, India continues to share its experience in building large-scale, inclusive skilling ecosystems that empower youth and unlock economic opportunity. Held a series of productive meetings with representatives from the @britishasiantst, @lagossubeb Nigeria, @FCDOGovUK, #NationalSkillsFund, South Africa, and @SECO_CH Switzerland, focusing on strengthening partnerships to scale outcomes-based approaches, sharing of best practices and scaling the impact for all. Also, joined a closed-door roundtable with global leaders and outcome funders to advance outcomes-based financing. In his keynote address, the High Commissioner of India to South Africa @prabhatk highlighted India’s rich linguistic diversity and outlined India’s diaspora policy, scholarship programmes and other welfare initiatives. He also appreciated the Indian community’s contribution to strengthening India–South Africa bilateral ties. #ITEC Day was celebrated on 18th February at India House, Pretoria. High Commissioner of India @prabhatk highlighted the objectives of the #ITEC programme, its contribution to skill development and capacity building.
