I've discovered a new Codex use case! Here’s the breakdown: • I needed to get my hair dyed at a specific salon • I also had a specific date and time I wanted • The slots were full :( • I put myself on the waitlist in case anything opened up • Right before closing, the salon called to let me know a slot was available • I missed the call and didn’t realize who it was from until after they had closed for the night • I went to their online booking flow to try to grab it myself • The slot looked available online, but the booking flow was broken • The service/add-on selector kept flickering in and out of view, so I couldn’t reliably choose the service or continue :( • I tried different browsers and devices, but the same thing kept happening • I asked Codex for help • We spent some time troubleshooting (the issue was corrupted frontend booking state in the modal) • Codex gave me instructions to fix it from my end, but I wanted to test something out… • OpenAI just shipped Codex Browser Developer Mode with full CDP access (you can enable it in Codex via Settings -> Browser -> Enable Full CDP Access) • 😈 I enabled it • With CDP enabled, Codex inspected the live page state, console errors, and booking network requests directly • Codex cleared the bad state, selected the right service, date, and time through the site’s own session/API flow, and booked the exact appointment I wanted • I checked my inbox and saw the booking confirmation Yay! Also I reported the bug to their support team so fingers crossed it gets fixed for everyone who doesn't use Codex

so far fable feels to me like the first real non-incremental step change in capability we've seen since opus 4.5 / gpt 5.2, a little over six months ago anthropic absolutely COOKED with this one a little sad for openai - i'm sure 5.6 is going to be good, but not this good

i've been working on 2 different codebases that @kitlangton started and they're a such delight using effect helps, but so do the effort he put into instructions, setup scripts, tests and architecture good reminder that ai amplifies people who have a high bar for their work

Since @OpenAIDevs are leaving us CLI users behind, here is a CLI tool that allows any agent to manage threads, review message history and set and clear goals (even for itself). I use it with my personal assistant to check status and spawn/resume threads via 2-way voice. 😜👇

right now I do this by structuring as much context in a workspace, setting very clear requirements & contracts upfront, and working with an orchestrator agent to launch workflows/goals/loops that all basically do the same thing - intake the context, begin whatever implementation, adversarial review + reimplementation loop, varying verification throughout etc.

@Rasmic Opus is still good for 0 to 1 when you dont know the vision yet. Use it in cursor and you feel like its a super power. 5.5 is the strict mom that make sure you eat your veggies. If you’re detailed and thoughtful not only will it do the work but teach you.

It’s true, most folks outside our bubble love and use Claude and in term she opus 4.8 In my humble opinion, 5.5 is still the better model… my workflow hasn’t changed. Opus for UI only.
