I have a strong feeling that whenever the dust settles from this capital cycle, founders/GPs/LPs will have renewed appreciation for the role of the traditional VC model: few deals/year, high ownership, high engagement.

Yes, but (again) I think this is a structural feature of VC as an outlier asset class:
> LPs back strategies they like (often consensus beliefs)
> LPs like concentrated portfolios that discourage idiosyncratic risk at GP-level
Capital for weird shit is short in supply

🧵 1/ Is venture broken? It’s a question I’m hearing almost daily across the VC ecosystem – and as an LP, one I can’t ignore. We set out to find an answer by digging into the data.
What we found was that, despite the expanding influence of mega-funds, dedicated Seed & Series A funds still have a very strong presence.
Specifically, the data showed that both types of funds are actively leading priced rounds, resulting in one of the most competitive venture markets I’ve seen. ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️
