@Joeinblack We eschew those terms and it’s something like conversion class (a bit awkward but everyone has figured out what it means)

Every time an announcement is made inviting people to “join OCIA” instead of “Classes to become Catholic” or “Catholic class”, an angel loses their wings.

@CatholicSmark @OscarRodval Idk if it’s even necessary to go down that route The left liberal is always going to destroy things if that’s necessary with no reservations; that doesn’t mean that they all will all the time

@MatthewJRoth @OscarRodval I think the issue is not so much "left liberals" so much as it is insecure people starving for a legacy. Even most left liberals wanted to leave this alone. Yet most left liberals weren't a failed pope desperate for recognition and loathing of his predecessors admiration.

I don't know Leo's personal thoughts on the TLM, but I think irrespective of his beliefs, the Church is going to incrementally (and the unfortunate emphasis on INCREMENTALLY) return Summorum Pontificum, just call it something else so Francis' legacy isn't entirely destroyed.

@CatholicSmark @OscarRodval What BXVI intended and could not get. Francis was not so compelled personally and so he overturned his predecessor. The problem of dealing with left liberals. x.com/matthewjroth/s…
Matthew Roth@MatthewJRoth

@M_P_Hazell @CatholicSmark I would like to see a more definitive solution BXVI felt constrained by convention. The Curia refused to work on an apostolic constitution so he went with SP which was much easier to change in one day versus an AC (even if amendable etc.)

@OscarRodval Certainly didn't. And I agree with others (think it was @MatthewJRoth) who said we need something more definitive in the long run beyond just a motu proprio to do a definitive settlement. But I think the overall outline will eventually be that.

@CatholicSmark One thing seems certain, though: when the moment arrives, some people are going to have a *really* hard time climbing out of their deep ideological trenches:

@CatholicSmark Already the tone shift and occasional remarks that are an obvious reflection on Francis’s vices and the tolerance for bad, rude, or criminal behavior and how maybe this is bad have been a lot I don’t need a cadaver synod exactly

Leo clearly wants an exit ramp. The Bishops don't want to deal with this issue, so I think any attempt to punt to the bishops will fail in the medium (to say nothing of long) term. But we can't just say The Vicar of Christ made a mistake and did something bad. (can but won't)

Pick one This reform is fine, and it’s not about technical details (which would belong to parliament and can be changed by law once the constitution changes) but about Meloni then

And actually I may have made too good of a point here; France largely eliminated instruction cases because of corruption. Being able to hold procurators accountable to the executive & therefore the legislature is good.

I’m discovering that Italy does not and will continue to not have a division between procurators and judges That is extraordinary, and it’s not as if Italy has always been this way or has been without previous opportunities for reform: they’ve reformed criminal procedure!

@Jahaza True but there definitely is a little bit of people need to get their hands dirty & put in a little more effort and stop podcasting etc Not to defend to the death professional Catholics & diocesan staff. There’s a lot wrong there too.

@CatholicSmark @BigEasyConserv @emzanotti Yeah And the French have been all over the place. The CEF hates trads & the TLM. Several major bishops do. They’ve got all sorts of goofiness thanks to TC, persecuting trads, and trying to fix real problems made worse for Rom by using the TLM

@MatthewJRoth @duncandee Do you think the family was waiting to hear of the fate of their child from a public statement from the CEO or were they informed earlier in a private communication in the language of their choice.

The charitable explanation here is this guy lacks English proficiency to realize his screenshots don’t back up his characterization. Either that, or he’s unintelligent (or thinks his followers are unintelligent). Either way, I’m okay with tweets like this not being on my feed!

Nikita Bier says Creator Payouts will now be affected by the user’s location. But told me personally I wouldn’t get paid at all: “We won’t send you money overseas.” Why is a regular user being targeted like this? I just think this change raises many issues: - What about US citizens living abroad? (many are full time X creators) - What about legitimate international creators? - Users from countries with little user base? (Vatican, 800 people; Andorra, 80k, etc.) - International full time X creators? Why should an account like mine not be paid at all while delivering over 100M impressions a month? Because the Head of Product doesn’t like me? I think @elonmusk should look into this. There are smarter ways to deal with ‘foreign interference’ from 3rd world countries. I was suspended within minutes of respectfully commenting about Nikita, then unbanned by Elon Musk himself. Hope it doesn’t happen again. Just my opinion, respectfully.

I love St. Louis!!! My kids are obsessed with the City Museum there. When I spoke at a Fox Park event in September, I was amazed by all the young families who were sooo interested in family-friendly urbanism. It was endearing and motivating. I didn’t see your STL compositions but will check them out later :)

Carina 🇺🇸🇨🇱 — Urban Designer & Ghostwriter@anurbancreative

Most people can't visualize their cities differently because they lack the tools. Courtyard Composer changes that. I've been using it all week. And I love how @UrbanCourtyard has been leading this conversation on Courtyard Urbanism, family-friendly cities, and New Aesthetics for American cities. @treasury_space built a tool that takes five minutes to learn—you prompt what you want to see, iterate on the design, and suddenly you're rendering courtyards in any city context. Then you share it and start conversations about what's possible. The tool itself isn't revolutionary. Rendering tech exists. What matters is who gets to use it. Urban design used to require: • Hiring an architect • Waiting weeks for renderings • And hoping stakeholders could interpret 2D plans Now anyone interested in how cities work can sketch ideas and see them in 3D instantly. • An urban design student can test theories without expensive software • A developer can explore options before committing to architectural fees • A neighborhood advocate can show their city council what a courtyard could do for their street. The shift isn't about better technology. Design expertise no longer gatekeeps the conversation about what cities could become. You don't need credentials to imagine better public spaces. You just need to care about where you live and a tool that translates ideas into something everyone can see and discuss. Every visualization becomes a conversation starter. Every render is a proposal for what our streets could be. Start HERE: composer.courtyardurbanist.com The hardest part? Deciding which city to visualize first. Try it—prompt a courtyard in your city and share what you create. I'd like to see what you come up with. --- 📌 Join the movement at courtyardurbanist.com

@legalstyleblog The US Board on Geographic names is also responsible for every US place ending in 'burgh' changed to 'burg', except Pittsburgh, PA which changed it back. Also any place ending in 'borough' being changed to 'boro'. Hence Marlboro and not Marlborough.

I’d pay more for window seats bc my superpower is sleeping on planes I fly ALL the time and the only way I stay sane is by falling asleep before plane gets to cruising altitude I always take the window. I never recline. I pull my hat over my eyes, put on music, and go to sleep
Patrick Ruffini@PatrickRuffini

The latest @davidshor data has prompted an unapologetic defense from me of the window seat, a lifelong preference it turns out is lower-class coded.
