Over the past few days, I've received a fair number of inquiries about a Black Friday special deal for File Pilot. My answer is always the same. As a Christian I will never sell my products during pagan events like that, nor do I buy anything for myself or my family during them. If you're a Christian, you should follow the same principles. It's not a coincidence that such events are always placed right before major Christian observances. Black Friday before Advent. Halloween before All Saints' Day. Shrove Tuesday before Lent.

Quick update on @trytattooapp — it’s been 13 days since launch! There was a small spike right after release (from what I’ve heard, Apple gives new apps a slight boost), and then things naturally slowed down. Honestly, I still think my app is the best one in the store right now. I tested around 10 AI tattoo apps — most have bad UX, low-quality results, and aggressively spam users with paywalls… maybe I should do that to increase conversions 😂 Anyway, the challenging part now is marketing. The keyword “ai tattoo generator” brings a lot of traffic, but competition is huge. The barrier to entry is low, and some apps are paying for ads, which helps them rank higher. Here are my current marketing thoughts: 1. Reddit I initially thought about posting on Reddit. The main tattoo subreddit has ~10M users, but after browsing and reading the rules, I realized real tattoo enthusiasts and artists generally hate AI. They feel threatened or insulted by it, so getting actual tattoo people to even try the app is tough. Also, promotions aren’t allowed there. I tested $100 in ads targeting these subreddits — not much came from it. To be fair, it was a fun experiment and my ad was pretty low-effort since I made it in 10 minutes during Thanksgiving dinner 😂 2. Social Media (X, Instagram, TikTok) Another strategy is to keep growing the @trytattooapp X account and start Instagram/TikTok accounts. I’m not super excited about this because creating content takes time and energy, but it’s probably the most reliable long-term strategy. Still thinking about it. 3. Apple Search Ads The idea I’m most excited about right now is Apple Search Ads, especially targeting searches like “ai tattoo.” This should help the app appear when people are actively looking for this type of tool. My ad is currently under review, and I’m planning to test with another $100 (plus the $100 Apple gave me in credits). We’ll see how it goes — maybe it’ll generate enough to reinvest in more ads. That’s the current update! If you have any questions, let me know. @techsavvytravvy @mattpocockuk @typescript It is different case I think, we can’t compare statically typed languages and dynamically type, and for example TS is just a layer over JS when for Golang for example it’s part of a compiler. That’s why for me it feels weird :)
