MNF DEMANDED UNIFICATION OF ZO AREAS SINCE THE YEAR BIREN SINGH WAS BORN: CM ZORAMTHANGA 28 July, 2023: In an interview with ThePrint, Mizoram CM Zoramthanga expressed his stand on several issues including the current ethnic conflict in Manipur and the question of Zo- reunification. When asked to respond to the charges of the Manipur CM @NBirenSingh that the Mizoram CM is interfering in the “internal matters” of Manipur, CM @ZoramthangaCM replied : “I do not interfere. In the year that Biren Singh himself was born, in 1961, the MNF was already founded and the main target was unification of the Mizo (Zo people) inhabited areas to form one administrative area.” CM Zoramthanga added that the question of unifying Zo areas was also raised with the Government of India while signing the Mizo Peace Accord in 1986 and it remains a key element of the Accord.
