Day 1 & 2 at the Mwanamke Imara Specialized PCVE Training 💛 It was powerful to witness women in security and justice institutions move beyond discussion into decisive action. From clarifying institutional mandates to strengthening coordination and early warning systems, the room was filled with practical solutions, bold commitments, and lived experiences shaping real change. As part of this forum, I had the privilege of capturing best practices and stories of transformation — stories of women who are not just participating in PCVE spaces, but actively setting the agenda for safer, more resilient communities. This is leadership rooted in courage, collaboration, and community impact. Strengthening community–security collaboration in Kilifi through dialogue and coordination. 🤝🌍 The @NCTC_Kenya convened community leaders, members of the Kilifi County Engagement Forum (CEF), and national and local administrators to advance early warning systems, build trust, and strengthen coordinated responses under the National Strategy for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (NSPCVE). 🚨🕊️ Youth and Women for Peace and Sustainable Development (YOWPSUD) participated in the forum, reaffirming its commitment to community-driven prevention approaches. Through its work in youth empowerment, women’s leadership, and community resilience, including initiatives such as Mwanamke Imara and youth mentorship programs, YOWPSUD continues to support grassroots early warning, strengthen dialogue between communities and security actors, and contribute to the implementation of the County Action Plan on PCVE in Kilifi. Today, we had the honor of hosting students from Semester at Sea at Swahilipot Hub Foundation a global study-abroad program where students travel the world by ship, learning from diverse cultures along the way. During their stay in Mombasa, they joined us for an engaging session on public speaking through art, highlighted by a thought-provoking play that sparked dialogue and reflection. The visit created a meaningful space for exchanging knowledge, ideas, and perspectives. As they continue their journey to new destinations, we hope Mombasa leaves a lasting impression on them just as their curiosity and energy inspired us.
