@zackbshapiro @claudeai Zack, cool stuff. Also a DPW alum here. I've built our own Harvey (called Louis, ha) for our company - also Claude-based, but with a full app to run on. Document generator, deep analysis, trackers, the whole lot. Law firms are bound to suffer.

Over the past couple weeks I've had a ton of lawyers reach out to ask me what AI tech I'm using in my legal practice. The answer, increasingly, is @claudeai. That's basically it. Not Harvey. Not CoCounsel. Not Spellbook. A general-purpose AI that I've taught how I practice law. Here's how I use it:

@nic_carter @_oddfox_ "National security" is an easy blanket excuse to justify all sorts of actions, including those that jeopardize civil liberties - and we've seen it brought up against crypto, for instance, hundreds of times. It's a much more nuanced debate

@_oddfox_ Markets exist at the pleasure of the government. Giving Claude first refusal on how the US Government may wage war is not acceptable. National security overrides their selfish little interests.

If a top AI CEO in China told the CCP to go kick rocks when they asked for help, that CEO would be instantly sent to prison. This is the correct approach Letting AI CEOs play politics and dictate policy for the military and soon the entire country like their own personal fiefdoms is appalling and undemocratic If Trump doesnt bring Dario to heel now, we will simply end up completely subjugated by him and his lunatic EA buddies
Jawwwn@jawwwn_

Palantir CEO Alex Karp on controversial uses of AI: “Do you really think a warfighter is going to trust a software company that pulls the plug because something becomes controversial, with their life?” “The small island of Silicon Valley— that would love to decide what you eat, how you eat, and monetize all your data— should not also decide who lives in a country and under what conditions.” “The core issue is— who decides?”

PHASE 1: Plenty of slanted news on X but not that many completely fabricated stories. PHASE 2: X monetization and LLMs lead to a big uptick in fabricated stories, quotes, photos, and videos—Community Notes provides a counterforce but with lag time. PHASE 3 (today): The majority of sensationalistic posts are now fabricated, Grok discredits them instantly—but posts still get millions of views and fool millions of people, hurting the marketplace of ideas, hurting X’s reputation, embarrassing people who share X posts with their friends, all while padding the scammers’ pockets. PHASE 4 (I hope): The algorithm is updated to penalize instead of reward scammers—posters who regularly scam X’s users with fabricated stories stop appearing on the For You page, crushing their reach. Grok currently calls these accounts “satire” but there’s nothing satirical about a fake headline or deepfake video presented as if it’s completely real. It’s a scam and fuck these people.

the argentines should take the falklands back just to show how impotent the UK has become it's not that the UK doesn't have the military capability, but they have no spirit remaining whatsoever. no national pride or collective vision. just a dwindling tax base and legions of imported dependents

One of my lesser-known research interests is the Falklands War. At the time, Great Britain was widely written off, yet it drew on everything that once made it great and ground out an impossible victory, at times literally with bayonets, as if history had snapped back to the Middle Ages. For those interested, it is probably one of the most fascinating wars ever fought, ranging from a nuclear submarine sinking a giant cruiser, the former USS Phoenix, on one end of the spectrum to large scale hand-to-hand combat in open fields on the other. It will forever stand as a truly extraordinary achievement in the history of warfare. But watching this totally pathetic Keir Starmer character 44 years later, a feeble and servile figure practically prostrating himself before the Chinese regime, I cannot help but wonder what must be going through Argentine minds. At this point, they would likely conclude that the Falklands could be taken without resistance.

good morning everyone. doing the 5.24 grams of mushrooms yesterday was one of the best days of my life. it was healing, energizing and full of love. the coolest thing was doing this together, from the livestream crew and my team to so many of you, we had a deeply impactful shared experience. my phone has been blowing up. many tell me they called their parents, children and friends to express love and gratitude. that they have a renewed energy for health and life. life feels so fresh. i sincerely wish all the best for each of you. life is very hard and everyone is trying their best. we also make life so much harder on ourselves and each her than is necessary. i have hope that a new era of human existence is just around the corner and we might just be able to wrestle our most destructive instincts and amplify the splendor. i deeply appreciate my co-founder @_katetolo, she just makes everything better and more radiant. @RyanMField i’m very proud that we built the brain interface Kernel Flow. it was incredibly hard which makes the joy of using it to quantify my brain in this experiment a special kind of joy. Dr. Seger thanks for keeping me on task to get the biomarkers done lol thanks to my team for working so hard. thank you @ashleevance @naval @friedberg @Benioff @gjurvetson @HamiltonMorris for being good friends and holding space as I went inwards. @Grimezsz your set was magical. surreal. perfect. i really felt like i could see you and your artistic beauty. @AutismCapital you’re great. i don’t know who you are but you were first on the internet to start playing with me and i deeply appreciate and enjoy your presence. and thanks to my dad, son @talmagejohnson_ and @_katetolo for being by my side. that family time was the very best life has to offer. all my best to all of you 💙

Daora a info.

Basically, British people just have zero ability to make anything work right. But they do have the ability to screech at anyone who points this out.
Noah Smith 🐇🇺🇸🇺🇦🇹🇼@Noahpinion

Today, I made the mistake of flying from Dublin to Paris via London's Heathrow Airport. This was a remarkably stupid move on my part, given that London, and by extension Heathrow, is located in the failing formerly-developed country known as "the UK". I almost paid dearly for this oversight. My layover was 1 hour and 30 minutes. As soon as my flight from Dublin arrived at Terminal 2, I began looking around for my connecting flight to Paris, which was located in Terminal 5. A helpful immigration officer pointed me in the direction of a free train that I could take to Terminal 5. After walking for about 15 minutes through a labyrinthine maze of tunnels, I arrived at this train. The train required me to get a ticket for the free trip to Terminal 5. After standing in line at a machine, I pressed a button that dispensed this ticket. I then used the ticket to go through a turnstyle. Once on the platform (which was poorly labeled), I discovered -- by asking some locals -+ that the trains for Terminal 4 do not actually go to Terminal 5. (This had not been apparent from any signs or other information in the train station.) I would thus have to wait 17 minutes for the dedicated train to Terminal 5. And so wait I did. About 20 minutes later I arrived at Terminal 5, and discovered that I was in the Departures area. Despite the fact that I was transferring, I would have to go through airport security again. So I waited in line for security, watching other people struggle with the automated boarding pass scanners. Finally I reached the scanners, and when I scanned my boarding pass, it registered an error, and told me to see a British Airways employee. (Sadly, my Aer Lingus flight was operated by British Airways.) So I went to the British Airways departures counter, and after a while I found the line I was supposed to stand in. I waited 10 minutes in the line, and was finally allowed to see a British Airways employee. The British Airways employee informed me that I had already missed my flight, since boarding was at 12:15 and it was now 12:17. I argued that boarding would probably last more than two minutes, and that I might still have time to make the flight, whose departure was scheduled for 12:55. She seemed skeptical of this argument, but I finally persuaded her to help me give it a try. Returning me to the security line, the British Airways woman told me to wait in the line (which would have taken 15 minutes). I begged her to let me jump the queue, and she did, explaining my plight to a South Asian security employee who let me through the rope barrier to the front of the line. This South Asian man is actually the hero of our story. When I cut to the front of the security line, a security employee barked at me to get back. The lovely South Asian man then barked at her to let me through, and his confident air of command carried the day. I was let through, and the South Asian man even showed me how to use the security machine so that it would definitely not stop me from entering. He told me to tell his colleagues at the baggage scanner that I was allowed to jump to the front of the queue. I raced to the baggage scanning line, which looked like it would have taken an additional 20 minutes, and simply ducked under the barriers and cut to the front of the line. I apologized to the employee there and told him my flight was already boarding. He told me that in that case, I had already missed my flight, and it wasn't even worth continuing. But I told him that his colleague (the aforementioned South Asian man) had instructed me to go through security anyway, and he accepted this and let me through. I had to do an extra scan of my shoes, but made it through OK. I then ran to my gate, ducking and weaving around various travelers. When I made it to the gate, I found that the flight was still boarding, and they let me through. I then spent 20 minutes standing in line on the jetway. Naturally, my bag didn't arrive in Paris.

Today I learnt some new things while fighting Brazilian communists on X In Portuguese when you want to insult someone You use "seu idiota" which is "your idiot" not "you idiot" like in English, which isn't logical cause there's nothing possessive about insulting someone, but it's just how it is Or in case of my insult below of "sun dried grapefruit" which is "toranja seca", it's "sua toranja seca" (seu is masculine, sua is feminine because toranja is femine cause it ends with -a)

Meu pai nunca me viu em toda a vida dele.
