@Mayoandham @RKEquityRocks Yep, and they hid it in a secondary trading notice. Then to make matters worse, they proceeded to issue shares at a significant discount to what was offered. Definitely not in the best interests of shareholders.

No other company has the license in Arg

@CarlCapolingua The point EVERYONE is missing is that these futures contracts are thin illiquid markets that are being driven down by the biggest BUYERS of Lithium . Miners write these cotracts into their offtake agreements as the reference price. Supply routed outside demand/supply dynamic.

#LITHIUM is such a fascinating market right now! Purest form of demand vs supply creates price, where in this case S > D = P⬇️ You don't need to understand why, just that IT IS, and there's nothing you can do about it, but accept it, and apply risk (or withdraw it) accordingly 🧐

@zempheth The tech risk mainly sits with the offtaker, because they will own the plant... If the plant doesn't deliver the only thing GLN loses is time (and maybe a small amount of 'inventory') - they could always pivot back to chemical processing and a different offtaker.

$GLN appear to be swapping out financial risk for tech risk here. 11th hour pivot from liming to nanofiltration, not paying for the plant. "Evap+Membrane" used in Qinghai but thermal & electrical types (not the pressure type here). US$150M TO proposal looking pretty good now, imo

The domestic economy is much more important (1.4b people) - their bigger issue is internal. Europe is actually a bigger market for China than the U.S

China imposes 34% retaliatory tariff on all US made products. We in China may not feel it, since almost nothing we use are made in the US, some food products are imported from the US, but that can be substituted by South American alternatives. There are some capital goods higher up in the supply chain, but they are sufficiently far away from the end product to have any effects.

Encouraging news for Li prices. Have spent the last week in 🇨🇳 and the question of when prices will rebound has different opinions here. This news would indicate it could happen earlier than what the Chinese consensus appears to be, late 25 early 26. The opinions appear to be based on announced mining/extraction capacity increases that at today’s prices are clearly un-economic. The reality is that in China investment decisions are made with another rationale than in the west and that between the governments resource security policies and Catl’s and Byd’s dominance signals have different readings. News in progress.

Fair point this, the number of times I see comments on HotCopper saying $GLN is waiting for an export permit is quite astounding. A simple table of key milestones and tick marks or status if not yet ticked would suffice, don’t need to be a comms expert to do this @GalanLithium
