@CoachDanCasey I remember watching this live and thinking the same thing; the holder downed the ball before the flip. Apparently that's legal in CFB. Gary Danielson explained it after the commercial break, IIRC.

@FChristopher77 I have a couple of questions, and I absolutely do not mean them in a disrespectful way! In what circumstances would you do the proskomedia during the vigil (I could see a morning orthros before liturgy), and how did you get the seal that crisp and well-defined!

Christ is Risen! I have just finished the Holy Proskomidia for the all-night vigil in honor of the Holy Prophet Isaiah, the Holy Hierarch Nicholas, and the Holy Martyr Christopher. I remembered you all with love. May you be healthy and blessed!

@MCCCANM I had an ex-Air Force (C-141 pilot) tell me once that "greasing" your landing every time is not desirable if for no other reason than it doesn't fully exercise the landing gear, and over time that's bad for maintenance. Don't know if that's true for all aircraft.

I’m happy w/ maybe 10% of my landings. The other 90% aren’t bad, they could just be better. I went a little further down the runway than ideal, was a little off centerline, touched down a bit firmer than I’d like. None of these things are dangerous, but they aren’t perfect. It’s both a science & an art. How soon do you cut the power to idle, where do you raise the nose ever so slightly to cut the descent rate, how much rudder do you kick at the last second to align the nose w/ centerline in a crosswind. Where was your aim-point & when did you shift it to the horizon? How far did you touch down? Did you go really far down the runway trying to grease it on? Smooth is great when it works, but it’s pretty far down my list when it comes to judging the landing. On a short or contaminated (wet, snowy, icy, etc.) runway, smooth is a complete accident & can be counterproductive…I’m not thinking about smooth at all, I want the wheels down forcefully to break through the contamination or to ensure I’m not floating above runway that’s being wasted. Get the wheels down & let the brakes do their work. It’s fun to try for smooth sometimes on long runways, but I tend to use those opportunities to practice my short field technique. Don’t want to got to Maui or Lihue in gusty winds & have not done short field in a while. So, at about 200’ I’ll change the aimpoint (if you do it much higher, you get off the Glideslope & the jet starts announcing that), see a third red PAPI & cross the runway threshold at 50’ or lower. Anyway, 90% of my landings leave something for me to learn from & do better next time. I’ve found that to be helpful in other areas of life, too.

@hekwoys I think it describes a texture or method of cooking more than a single dish. A bit like how "barbeque" has different meanings here in the US.

I just do not understand what “pudding” means to the English. “Dessert”—ok fine. Yorkshire “pudding”—a popover. Huh? “Black pudding”—a kind of sausage. What does “pudding” even signify? These things have literally nothing in common in their preparation, ingredients, or function

I’m selling my Triumph TR6 150bhp. I’ve had this car for 3 years but the time has come to let someone else enjoy her this summer. She’s just had £4000 spent on the engine and is ready for summer! Please share. 👍 carandclassic.com/auctions/1972-…

@davepl1968 See, I don't get the subversion hate. Genuinely, why do people dislike it so much? I feel mentally deficient when people say stuff like this, because I'm all "it's simple and it works". Admittedly I never used it with a large team though.

@SandyofCthulhu When we lived in Spain, we frequented a German restaurant operated by a German ex-pat. I would order a side of fries every time. He always encouraged me to try the kraut. One day he just takes my usual order as and brings me kraut instead of fries anyway. It was fantastic!

As a kid, the only sauerkraut I ever had was cold straight from the can and ladled onto the occasional hot dog. On my first trip to Germany, I ordered some kind of wurst and lo and behold there was a hateful glob of sauerkraut right there on the plate next to it. Eyuuch. But, not wanting to offend my hosts, I took a bite. It was amazing. It's wasn't just pickle. It had strips of carrot, onion, BACON, cooked cabbage, caraway seeds. I loved it. Basically Germany taught me that sauerkraut is an ingredient, not a condiment, and ever since then when I add sauerkraut to a meal (which I frequently do), I always cook it with other ingredients. It's particularly toothsome with sliced apple - trust me on this. Yay Germany.

@EODHappyCaptain I really wanted to like Kinders. I use their squeeze bottle buttery buffalo stuff all the time....but honestly: just plain kosher salt, a coarse ground pepper and (maybe) your own garlic is unbeatable on beef.

I posted about steak the other day in hopes of making some new Japanese 𝕏 friends. In the comments, someone posted that Kinder’s, “The Blend” is the superior steak seasoning. I’m skeptical. For science, I am going to experiment: one steak with this new seasoning blend, and a control steak with salt and pepper. In the spirit of fairness, I will eat both steaks while my family looks on, mortified at how much red meat I’m eating. This is America.

@SaysSimulation At least some of the bases we use in Spain are not our bases. They are Spanish owned, and fly the Spanish flag. (Although the one I was stationed at in the 90's would fly an American flag on July 4th as a show of support.)

The Iran War is forcing a quickening of the US-NATO divorce pace. Spain - who currently has a far-Left regime - denied the US access to our bases. So, Trump will severely economically punish them. People in the replies are saying the US can't do that, Spain is a core member 1/
