@SundayWorldZA Why does this not happen at cricket or rugby games? Supporters buy tickets legally and understand what sold out means. Stay home and watch on TV. SAFA failed their Supporters.

A stampede, disaster waiting to happen at PSL big matches. Children crying and screaming as fans broke gates and stormed inside Orlando Stadium for Saturday's Orlando Pirates v Durban City. Again, police and security stood helpless as the stadium was filled to over the capacity. A threat of a stampede is looming...

Why is a Sergeant from a task team calling a Magistrate mid-bail hearing to "reminisce" about a 2019 case? And then telling him it’s not necessary to mention it in court? That sounds like a textbook intimidation tactic. It feels like someone is desperate to influence the outcome for Mkhwanazi and Lerutla. The State Prosecutor needs to do more than just "look into it" this is potential interference.

BOKSBURG MAGISTRATES SAYS HE RECIEVED A CALL FROM A MEMBER OF THE "MADLANGA TASK TEAM" DEVELOPING: The Magistrate Emmanuel Sethibe Magampa, presiding over the bail hearing of suspended Deputy EMPD Julius Mkhwanazi and Kagiso Lerutla, says he got a call yesterday from a member of the "Madlanga Task Team" named Sergeant Sibisi. The magistrate says the member asked if Magampa presided over the 2019 scheme involving an alleged R400,000 payment to hire a fake person to appear in court for a speeding case. The magistrate said he couldn't recollect or recall what had happened previously. Magampa, who's been in the criminal justice system for over 37 years, directed Sibisi to check records at the court and also communicate with the prosecutors in order to get answers. Magampa further said he told Sibisi he'd place it on record during today's bail hearing. Sibisi allegedly said it was not necessary. The magistrate said it was ethically necessary and proceeded to place that on record during day three of the bail hearing. The defense said this was extremely concerning, while the State Prosecutor said they'd look into the matter. The magistrate said he'd decide "what step to take next" during his free time, citing that it's the nature of the game and he wasn't deterred. NB: This Task Team was established by SAPS, not the Madlanga Commission, despite the Magistrates' reference to the member as being from the "Madlanga Task Team." @eNCA @Abramjee

"This word 'super fan' is very insulting. We are launching the Lucky Fan program. We are taking one lucky fan from every Premier Soccer League team to the FIFA World Cup in Mexico. Their flights, accommodation, ground transport, and daily allowance will be fully sponsored by two big companies," Minister of Sports Gayton McKenzie "The selection of those lucky fans will be run by a panel of judges drawn from the best voices in South African sport: Robert Marawa, Andile Ncube, and a whole lot of other journalists," @GaytonMcK

David Motsamai was a wealthy Soweto bootlegger and businessman (known as "Oom Day") whose identity Nelson Mandela adopted as an alias in 1962 to evade arrest while traveling for Umkhonto weSizwe activities. Motsamai was a supporter and 1961 patron of Orlando Pirates Football Club and a founding member of the National Professional Soccer League. Mandela, a prominent Lawyer in the 1950s, previously represented Motsamai. When traveling through Africa and returning to South Africa in 1962, Mandela used a passport under the name David Motsamayi (or Motsamai). Mandela and Motsamai shared the same birth date (July 18th) but were born eight years apart (Mandela in 1918 and Motsamai in 1910). Motsamai maintained a "nouveau riche" status that allowed him to operate successfully despite apartheid restrictions. Motsamai was also a founding member of the National Professional Soccer League’s (NPSL). Credit: Drum Archives, SAHO, IOL, Jeff Ramsay

Are we surprised at the continued thieving at PRASA? Good people like Martha Ngoye and Tiro Holele - were purged from PRASA - only because they got in the way of those who desired to eat. What gets me is the Minister, DG etc continue to look away. news24.com/investigations…

It is truly moving to see the Deputy President of the Republic and the ANC, a former president, and other senior ANC leaders coming to bid Ntate Lekota farewell. Rising above differences to honour a person’s contribution to the country is both dignified and right. Beautiful, sir.
Paul Mashatile🇿🇦@PMashatile

During this difficult time, we unite to show support to the Lekota family. As a member of the South African Students’ Organisation and a leading figure in the United Democratic Front (UDF), Mr Mosiuoa "Terror" Lekota, played a significant role in mobilising communities against Apartheid. #RIPMosiuoaLekota #PaulMashatile

According to the Minister of Finance: Audit outcomes highlight an unacceptable reality, that 63 per cent of municipalities are in financial distress. I’d hazard a guess that 100% of those Municipalities are controlled by the @MYANC. Yes / No?

Allegations are surfacing again that police officers at several Gauteng police stations — including Hillbrow and Johannesburg Central — are arresting foreign nationals on a large scale, both documented and undocumented, only to release them shortly afterwards in exchange for cash. Payments of between R500 and R5 000 are reportedly being demanded. This is nothing less than extortion. It means police officers are allegedly running an illegal cash-for-freedom racket from inside police stations. This must stop! Urgent intervention is required from:    •   SAPS management    •   The National Commissioner    •   IPID    •   The Ministry of Police •Home Affairs. There must be immediate investigations, lifestyle audits, undercover integrity tests, and criminal prosecutions. Corruption inside the police is one of the biggest enablers of crime in South Africa. If we do not clean out the rot, every serious crime-fighting strategy will fail. Those who pay bribes also need to be arrested and charged. @SAPoliceService @HomeAffairsSA @Leon_Schreib @Prof_Cachalia @RSA_IPID

The attacks on Paul Mashatile are manufactured outrage. He is relentlessly attacked because he is tipped to be the next president of the Republic. He has been into many portfolios in government & there were no complaints. However as soon as he was elected DP they started the attacks

Taxi drivers drive like this every day, and you don’t write articles complaining about them. Now that it’s Paul Mashatile’s convoy driving in the wrong lane, suddenly you have a problem. We all know you don’t like him, but let the DP breathe. At least he’s not blocking both lanes
