When you consider everything they did to silence Riley, you realize why so many women & girls still fear speaking up. It also deepens your respect for those that bravely do it anyway, regardless of the price. And there’s always price.

There is no such thing as "trans activists language". If you are referring to what trans women and trans men are called, that comes from trans people. Not activists. Trans women live their lives as women and are accepted in society as women. That has been the case with trans women throughout millennia.

@WilliamsonRT @Scienceofsport @Theleftorwright I think the casual adoption of trans activists language that has been a huge part of the problem. Sport is only a small part of this and keeping males out of our rape centres and changing rooms gets harder when they’re allowed to use language implying they are a sub set of women

Remember this article from Jenni Murray in 2017. Totally reasonable, nothing extreme, just saying men can’t be women. Then there was all the protests, calls to cancel talks, The BBC warned her, restricted her on air, and by 2020 she left Woman’s Hour. But she never backed down, even as the pushback continued for years. This is how speaking honestly costs you in public life. But she was forever right. Rest in peace, brave and courageous Jenni Murray. thetimes.com/article/490f2f…

@Theleftorwright Well, they have a right to safe & fair sport. These rights are realized only when men are prevented from competing against them, because men acquire traits as a result of SEX that undermine safety & fairness for women. So the category is based on sex, and it ensures their right
