This crisis extends beyond political affiliations and parties. The crisis at @DeptVetAffairs has been going on for DECADES. Through multiple administrations. Veterans are just asking for our Country to finally come together to do the right thing. Both sides. All sides. America’s Veterans didn’t have to be asked twice to stand up for America. Why do we have to beg now?
NH FOR AMERICA FIRST@Nh4Trump603

VETERANS ARE KNOWINGLY BEING HARMED BY THE VA—THIS SHOULD BE A NATIONAL CRISIS While veteran suicide remains underreported and continues to rise, @WhiteHouse officials have now been placed on notice for a second time after senior @DeptVetAffairs leadership—including direct involvement by @SecVetAffairs—failed to properly address, investigate, or resolve allegations of ongoing systemic abuse, retaliation, and complaint cover-ups affecting disabled veterans and their families. Veterans are still awaiting a response after notice and evidence was submitted directly to White House officials. Disabled veterans shouldn't have to fight the very system created to protect them. They aren't asking for special consideration—they're asking government officials to uphold the laws and safeguards that are already in place. While thousands of egregious cases of such systemic violations exist, we now have a meticulously documented case that provides a window into how the system operates at every level—deflecting, dismissing, mischaracterizing, and narrowing the scope of reviews to control outcomes of those reviews to avoid institutional accountability at all costs. Our veterans served with honor. Those entrusted in their care should be required to as well—or removed from their position. There are calls from the veteran/veteran family community for the resignation of Secretary Doug Collins. @RapidResponseVA @PressSec @SecWar @POTUS @FLOTUS @VP @TheJusticeDept @CivilRights @boonecutler @VFAFWarroom @VFAFVP @GeorgiaVFAF @JaredCraig4GA @Al_Baldasaro

@MCSIGINTAssoc @Sapperldr @CoryMillsFL When was the last time you attended a veteran advisory meeting in CFL?I've spent years working alongside veterans, attending meetings, advocating for better policies, and listening to those directly affected. That's how you solve problems, not by posting on X, but by being present.

@Sapperldr @CoryMillsFL We need more compassion, more conversations, and more buddy checks, not more online attacks. As a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary, I'd be happy to sit down over a cup of coffee and have a real conversation anytime.

@BCorfmanParks @Sapperldr @CoryMillsFL So will you be doing a buddy check at any of the VA hospitals within Florida anytime soon? Specifically the top floors that they have been illegally holding veterans against their will? Or addressing why Florida VA hospitals pay out the highest amounts of wrongfull death claims?

@hm_hazell @MarkLucasUSA @DAVHQ That's not how that works dude. You sign your DD214 saying it's correct. Why would you sign it if it's wrong? If there's truly a mix up and you find it important for your image while lobbying congress. File the DD215 to correct it.

@MCSIGINTAssoc @MarkLucasUSA @DAVHQ I mean it’s possible that they were awarded it but it didn’t make it into records and they didn’t bother fixing it. I’ve got a sea service deployment (2nd award) that didn’t make it on my DD214 because I couldn’t find the paperwork in time before separation. Still earned it.

Mark, I resigned all DAV leadership, “Do as we say, Not as we Do” In Jan 2026 over reserves, exec pay & governance. DAV calls itself nonpartisan, yet OpenSecrets shows DAV spent $612,759 on lobbying for 2024 & DAV‑linked contributions were 97% Dem, 3% GOP. opensecrets.org/orgs/disabled-…

House Veterans' Affairs Democrats
RM @RepMcGovern just offered an amendment to the $95 billion Reconciliation bill to fully fund and finally pass the Major Richard Star Act. If House Republicans are serious about ending the wounded veteran tax for our combat-injured veterans, they must include this amendment in Reconciliation.

No to the TCAVA. A “Bad Deal is a “No Deal” for us Veterans. We can and must do better after a 20 year Global War. After an entire generation had their youth spent defending America. And especially during this, the worst Veteran Suicide crisis in history. 👉🏻65% of that bill is “Talk”. Designed to slow wall and stall any actual reform at @DeptVetAffairs by NeverTrumper Koch and the rest of “those” clowns. (And I haven’t even addressed the most popular yet superficial complaints about the TCAVA). I know @POTUS wants serious reform for us. I know of @realDonaldTrump actually understood how each of those neutered mini bill was written, (please read them, Sir), he would tell @RepBost to start over. All “Movement Without Action”. “ (Insert Bill Name Here) directs the @DeptVetAffairs to BEGIN DISCUSSIONS on (insert issue the VA should have been treating decades ago here)” Ladies and gentlemen, the above☝🏻, is all Legislative Gobbledegook for: “Slow walk and stall this reform by discussing it to bureaucratic death for the next 10 years”. Anyone care to prove me wrong? I’ll wait… @POTUS @SecVetAffairs @CoryMillsFL @RepLuna @MCSIGINTAssoc @InfidelReport No Compromising for America’s Veterans. No Deal.

The midterm elections are going to be a LOT closer than they should be if @SecVetAffairs along with Congress, doesn't put some tangible wins on the board. So far, his agency is hands down the worst of the entire administration. I would call it a disaster. He's oblivious, btw.

@janae_sergio @VFWHQ @RepBost False. VFW went toxic. Toxic against other VSO, against organizations of survivors, and toxic on Capitol Hill against lawmakers who disagreed. Lawmakwrs who now know the bill isn’t a poison pill will vote for it.

Let’s be clear, all the @VFWHQ did was tell the truth about TCAVA which gave actual veterans an opportunity to form their OWN opinions. @RepBost had a cr-aaap week because veterans raised their voices. These weren’t just VFW members. The American Legion , WWP and other members even spoke out against their own organizations. One American Legion post broke away from National HQ. The legislators who broke quorum did so because they also took the time to understand the full impact of TCAVA and couldn’t turn their backs on the overwhelming outcry from the entire veteran community. There is a way forward, but that is for the authors of the bill to determine. You couldn’t secure your vote because the bill was flawed, plain and simple.

The American Legion
The American Legion@AmericanLegion·
American Legion National Commander Dan K. Wiley's issued the following statement on July 17 about the Take Care of America’s Veterans Act: The American Legion has never backed down from a fight for veterans. We did not quit on the GI Bill or Agent Orange, and we won't now. The Take Care of America's Veterans Act includes more than 60 measures that will benefit tens of millions of veterans and their families — especially Gold Star families, combat-injured medically retired veterans, surviving spouses, and caregivers. It includes critical funding for expanded suicide prevention programs and tens of billions of dollars for veterans’ programs are at risk if Congress fails to act. We will not be distracted by misinformation or fear-mongering. The facts matter: TCAVA includes no retroactive cuts. VA/OMB will make rating changes by regulation regardless of what happens to TCAVA, and future veterans rated under the new rules will still have a stronger VA healthcare and benefits system that works for them. The question is not between TCAVA and a perfect bill. The question is whether those savings will support veterans programs or be lost to the Treasury. Those who endorse AND oppose TCAVA have supported efforts in Congress to pass all of these bills for years. But notably, those who continue to oppose this bill have not offered a realistic alternative to secure these critical reforms. Passing a “clean” bill waiving PAYGO has not happened, despite years of bipartisan effort for a slew of these bills, and will not happen now. Finding another DOD or VA offset has not happened. Those claiming otherwise are not being objective or forthright. Too many people have already waited years - in some cases decades - for these critical reforms. And none of these hypothetical options will stop VA/OMB from finalizing the rule. We stand with 22 other veterans and military service organizations who have joined this call. A postponed vote does not mean the fight is over. We will continue to work with members of Congress and staff in both chambers, of both parties, to find a way forward. The time to act is now. Contact your members of Congress to urge them to pass TCAVA. We urge Congress to bring TCAVA to a vote as soon as possible and pass the bill. As the voice of nearly 3 million members of The American Legion family, we remain fully committed to this fight!

@DavidSt59726197 @janae_sergio Dude you are being exploited. You talking about the MRC survey of 1098 entries mostly from their own employees is stupid. Americas Warrior Project runs MRC and they both receive Fox Grants worth over a million from the VA. They want TCAVA to pass as it increases the grant amount

Now that is a hell of a good question. Can we get it funded????? We've been asking that for 6 years. Nobody ever offered a pay for. Now we got one and a very loud 11%. Don't like it (as per mission roll call latest survey) . So how are you going to help shape this? What are you going to suggest to fund it?? It's time for action, talk is cheap. Talk does not lead to financial stability for combat wounded veterans. Talk does not pass" Love lives on" , talk does not ensure timely health care for our veterans. We need action, the very action that you and your cronies went ahead and convinced four Republicans to flip flop. That's pretty bad that all you got with all that effort was four. But hey for your effort. Congratulations about 250 veterans are going to die in the next two months and never receive a penny of their retirement check. Great job!

I'm pretty surprised with @RepDougCollins! VA Secretary Doug Collins helped kill White House backed bill this week: Take Care of America's Veterans Act. He is weak and too worried about his political future
Mark Lucas 🇺🇸@MarkLucasUSA

I worked alongside President Trump to pass two of the biggest reforms in VA history — the VA Accountability Act and the MISSION Act. He fired bad employees, gave veterans choice, and saved lives. Now a weak @SecVetAffairs puts that legacy in jeopardy. Doug Collins won't put his full weight behind the Take Care of America's Veterans Act, and House GOP members are adopting Democrat talking points they know are untrue because they fear the midterms. Tell Congress to pass the Take Care of America's Veterans Act in the link below👇
