Turpentine and @eriktorenberg are crushing the podcast content game. • 21 shows • 250K monthly views • Interviewed giants like @balajis, @austin_rief, and @gregisenberg Now they are expanding their business to newsletters. But they have a few leaks in their funnel costing them $$$. Problem - Social Traffic + Newsletter = Weak Opt-In - Current “Hook,” headlines, problems, and benefits could be stronger & more specific - Too many steps to subscribe - Welcoming email is weak - No intro video - Does not prime reader about next email - Does not tell reader how to remove email out of spam Solution Customized Educational Email Courses - Capture more emails, allowing you to attract more customers/clients/users - Establish trust with customers/clients/users on autopilot - Think of it as "The 5 biggest mistakes CFOs make in budgeting" vs. the vague "subscribe to our newsletter here" The goal here is to move your audience from social media ATTENTION to email-based RETENTION and CONVERSION. Erik, I sent you an email if you want to chat.
Turpentine@TurpentineMedia

Turpentine is hiring a GM of Events, and a GM of Newsletters to help launch new business units for our growing media platform. Currently, Turpentine’s core product is a podcast network. We have launched 21 shows to date that bring in 250k unique monthly listeners, and until now @eriktorenberg has essentially played the role of "GM of Podcasts" — building the playbook of how we launch, produce, monetize, and grow our shows. We’re looking for someone to do the same for newsletters and events. Learn more through the below JDs: - GM of Events: docs.google.com/document/d/1rq… - GM of Newsletters: docs.google.com/document/d/1J2… And apply by sending us your LinkedIn or CV, and a few sentences why you'd be a good fit: erik@turpentine.co

i quit alcohol for two years. and introduced it back a few months. what you call: "When you drink again after a long break, the hangover is a signal." is not factually correct. in fact, i feel healthier because i only drink with intention (social gatherings, with friends), and 1-2 drink max. And still have sharp mornings and more clarity. I also have to say I workout 3 times a week, meditate/pray for the 1st hour in the morning, eat healthy, etc... my point i am trying to alcohol with friends is healthy when done in moderation and it includes a healthy lifestyle.

Over the last few years, my team and I have written many Deep Dives - fundamental research that I use to learn, guide my thinking and refine my decision making. We started publishing these Deep Dives once per month. We now have a team and process that allows us to publish once per week. The topics are bangers - you can see a table below in the picture. We call this service Learn with Me. It costs $1,000/yr. We charge $1000/yr as a quality signal. I wanted to find a price that a) signaled when people made an important decision to subscribe to Learn with Me but also b) by staying or churning, signal to me how good the Deep Dives were. We have many thousands of people in the Learn with Me community and it grows a lot each month. The goal of Learn with Me will never change: explain important topics from the ground up, show why they matter now, and share the insights we use to understand the world and make better decisions (operational, organization, investment). Over time, I will invest the capital that this creates into building a full knowledge base (starting with the Deep Dives but growing from there), giving access to some of my agents (my portfolio composer, my negotiation agent, my org design agent, my strategy consulting agent) and many other exciting ideas. It's all new but we will learn together. In other words, more is coming for folks that are a part of the community. Underrated health hack: I recently started doing 10 minutes of mobility work every day. Wish I started years ago. Have noticed a dramatic improvement in how I feel and move. Got an app called Pliability that gives me a custom daily program. No affiliation, but it's great.

Health stuff I spend money on that’s 100% worth it: - High-quality mattress - Blackout shades - Sauna - Quarterly blood panels - Wild Roman skincare - Food sensitivity test - Non-toxic cookwear - White noise machine - Bright desk lamp Simple investments with asymmetric returns.

Health stuff I spend money on that's 100% worth it: • Red light therapy before bed every night • Day + night blue light blockers • Jiu jitsu 3x a week • Home gym (no commute, no excuses) • Acupuncture + massage bi-weekly • Local eggs, local sourdough, grass fed butter, grass fed beef • Whole house water filtration • Purity Coffee • Blueprint longevity mix • Wild Roman skincare by @sahilbloom • 100% cotton and hemp clothes The ROI on feeling good every single day is higher than any business investment I've made. Took me years to lock this in but it’s been worth every dollar so far What would you add?

I remember seeing @elonmusk tweet about it and be like wtf? x.com/elonmusk/statu… Great analysis. As a single male, slide 25 - The Rising Trend of Sexual Inactivity in Young Men hit hard. Which illustrates how shocking the data really is . Reading this deep dive gave me awareness of this challenge and how it is a personal responsibility for each individual (if that's a value) to have more children. A MUST READ for every single male out there to take responsibility and procreate chabibis! This is the best deep dive yet because it touches on the struggle of millions, few dare to articulate. Thank you Chamath and LWM for sharing your wisdom.

@bryan_johnson hey @grok, So according to Bryan, sauna reduces microplastics that are in this body? Can you explain how? just sweat out the microplastics? heat destroys microplastics?

Bryan Johnson@bryan_johnson·
I eliminated 85% of microplastics from my ejaculate. Nov 2024: 165 particles/mL July 2025: 20 particles/mL Nearly identical drop in my blood same time period: Oct 2024: 70 particles/mL May 2025: 10 particles/mL Important as a meta-analysis of 36 studies reveals that microplastics induce oxidative stress in the male reproductive system, leading to testicular inflammation, cell death, and reduced testosterone levels, sperm production, and motility. Two studies last year showed that microplastics were detected in every human testicular and semen samples tested. The therapy we think most responsible for this reduction is sauna as it also eliminated most environmental toxins in my body, including those linked to various plastics (200 F, 20 min daily w/ ice on the boys). I also avoid the big no-no’s like microwaving in plastic, plastic cutting board, and having a reverse osmosis water system. To our knowledge, this is the first report of any correlation (esp in the same person over two timepoints) between blood and semen microplastic levels, demonstrating successful microplastic detoxification in the semen following that in the blood.

Boy went to public school and came to YU for its Jewish life. Attack happened around 7PM at the 181st 1 Train station—a train I have taken more times than I can count. There’s a blind spot on the staircase leading down to the trains. 6-8 assailants wore masks. Boy is recovering in the hospital.

bad bunny does not represent our culture (im colombian) our real music does not have such dirty choice of lyrics. but i understand americans like it because they are enamored with rap music. he is an americanized musician who speaks spanish. if you want to hear REAL latin music look for fonseca, carlos vives, diego torres. People who speak about life, love, and growth in a clean way.

I started listening to Bad Bunny when I moved to Miami a few years ago. It was always playing in the gym. I started to learn the songs, which started teaching me words in Spanish. Then some of the Dominican trainers at the gym and I became friends, and they started speaking Spanish with me. It gave me a small taste of what it must be like for immigrants who don’t speak English to come to America and turn to movies, TV shows, and music to learn the language. And how quickly you can become friends with someone even when you only share a few words in common. IMO that’s what Bad Bunny’s halftime show captured creatively. Latin culture is special. And you don’t need to speak the language to be invited to the party, dance, and experience community & connection. I’m glad he didn’t sing a single word in English. It’s his party. And I appreciate him inviting all of us, fluent or not, to be part of it.
