Nice to wake up to good news: the democratic opposition wins on no new funding for ICE and Border Patrol. All credit to Senate Dems who held firm and prevailed. All honor to the people of Minneapolis who showed the way in resisting and defeating the forces of authoritarianism.

@Mackeroonis @Couch_Observer @rushicrypto You could make a 1KT device that weighs less than 75lbs. It would fit inside a decent sized backpack. We built warheads of this size over 60 years ago. I’m confident that most modern countries are capable of this by now; the limiting factors are the enriched fuel material.

@Couch_Observer @rushicrypto It actually isn’t. Producing a simple ‘bomb’ to ignite an atomic reaction is doable. A gun-type assembly can be machined relatively easily, but there are other significant stupidities in a ”suicide west”. Mostly the weight. You still need a truck. So why wrap it around a person?

JD Vance claimed today that Iran may send people with “Nuclear Sucicide Vests.” Yes he really said this. Any nuclear physicists out there that can comment on this? I mean I’m guessing it’s insane and not possible but I know nothing.

I didn’t mean for you in particular, I’m just speaking in general. Most people don’t have access to that much resources. People will zero their weapons and practice with cheap ammunition then save the “good stuff “ for when they really need it. They are are always surprised when they miss

@MichaelWHowell Bruh I have enough brass, powder, projectiles and primers to load 20,000 rounds of 69 gr RMR and while I won't cry about mag dumping projectiles that are 5 cents more, that adds up. I'm definitely still buying the cheapest decent M193 I can. Can just write down POI shift

Okay this is WILD: true shot is selling PMC Bronze .223 (excellent training ammo) for 43 cents a shot, shipped. THAT'S CHEAPER THAN WHAT I CAN GET AT DISTRIBUTION (sold out anyway) alnk.to/apWNFuk

“Training” with ammunition that has a different POI than your “real life” ammunition is a waste of time. If you’re planning to use a certain ammunition for hunting, defense, or SHTF then you should be training with that ammunition, or at the very least an ammunition that you have verified has the same POA/ POI.

Distributor cost is 44 cents a pop, market price more like 48 cents a pop. No complaining about AR15 chow allowed for the next 12 months if you didn't jump on this deal.

My only concern with the entire situation is that he not only destroyed his own credibility but he also damaged the credibility of everyone on the right when he started with the blame Israel bullshit. If he decided to do a complete 180 on his beliefs about Iran that’s on him. He is free to disagree with everybody else including the Iranian diplomat who stated that they had enough material to fabricate 11 bombs. When he decided to start with the blame the Jews for everything crap he lost any chance of me taking hm seriously. As far as I’m concerned once he started that his opinion was invalid.

These boomers trying to swift-boat Joe Kent are going to fall flat on their faces. Joe is one of the most respected warriors of the GWOT generation and a paid propaganda campaign isn’t going to change that. Attack his positions all you want, that’s completely fair game. But trying to character assassinate him… saying he’s ‘masquerading as a warrior’ says far more about you than it does about him.
Greg Kelly@gregkellyusa

JOE KENT (Career Politician Wannabe) pulled a “John Kerry”—masquerade as a warrior, get ticket punched in a “War Zone” —then Publicly OPPOSE War. Kerry rode that SCAM all the way to the Senate. Personal AMBITION disguised as “Truth to Power”-FAKE NEWS Falls for it Every Time. Stay tuned for Joe Kent’s THIRD Unsuccessful run for Congress

The NFA has been used for nearly a century to criminalize law-abiding gun owners. We already eliminated the $200 tax stamp. Now it's time to finish the job. My bill, H.R. 335, repeals the National Firearms Act entirely. Your rights aren't negotiable and they shouldn't come with a permission slip from the ATF.

@Silverback375 In the not so distant past you would subtract the number of years of prior military service from your physical age to arrive at your adjusted enlistment age, you must be able to retire before your 62’d birthday

Spoken exactly like someone who has never been involved in a potentially lethal situation in close quarters. All agents should be trained and comfortable with hand to hand combat in case they are surprised and possibly fighting for control of a weapon. Or perhaps you could volunteer to show them the correct way to lose that battle?

The FBI has tremendous resources, and they use it to their advantage. FBI arrives with overwhelming force, with guns. The notion that a FBI agent is going to engage in hand combat is highly unlikely. Not clear why Patel wants to prioritize training with UFC cage fighters.
The Wall Street Journal@WSJ

When Kash Patel said in one of his first video calls as FBI director that he wanted agents to train with UFC cage fighters, many officials thought he was joking. He wasn’t. on.wsj.com/3NjNlcQ

Former Army JAG here. No quarter orders are a violation of the law of war and Geneva conventions. This is the same order reportedly given during the Caribbean boat strikes. @SecWar is establishing a pattern of issuing illegal orders. I’ve trained hundreds of soldiers on the law of war — our service members have an obligation to follow that law.
Acyn@Acyn

Hegseth: No quarter, no mercy for our enemies. Yet some in the press just can't stop. More fake news from CNN reports that the Trump administration underestimated the Iran war's impact on the strait of hormuz. The sooner David Ellison takes over that network, the better.

@RadioFreeTom Post CIB citation or STFU. You’re a part of the problem trying to force social compliance and diversity training instead of strategic planning and tactical training for officers who have spent the majority of their careers in staff positions.

I hope the first thing this task force does is inform Pete Hegseth about what happens in the war colleges he's never attended - or apparently, even visited - because all this stuff isn't it. He has no idea what he's talking about here, but that's no surprise.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth@SecWar

Professional Military Education should produce warfighters and leaders—not wokesters. That’s why we are establishing a Task Force to evaluate our Senior Service Colleges and ensure the focus is where it belongs. No distractions. Just warfighting.

I propose the greatest alternative tax ever. Abolish all federal taxes on individuals; the federal budget would be divided by the number of congressional representatives and paid proportional to each state’s number of shares. This has the added benefit of the states wanting to restrict the census numbers to citizens only.

Sorry, the Flat Tax is Not Simple. A "Flat tax" means everyone pays the same income tax rate, say 10%. Simplifying the tax code this way is like simplifying my car by replacing five lug nuts with one big lugnut. The lugnuts are not the complicated part. Okay a flat 10% tax would be SLIGHTLY simpler than our current system, but varying tax rates are about 0.001% of the tax code's complexity. The other 99.999% is hiding inside that word, "Income." Some will protest. "But we will also eliminate deductions!" I certainly approve of that, but don't expect to get a simple tax code. For example: Shall we eliminate the deduction for cost of goods sold? Then all revenue becomes "Income." Shall we eliminate the deduction for wage expense? "No no, we will only eliminate the silly deductions." Okay. Is dinner for a client a silly deduction? What if I eat some too? Is research and development a silly deduction? How about advertising? How about the gasoline to drive my car to work? Is depreciation a silly deduction? Is it even possible to simplify it? How much does a car depreciate in the fourth year? Every one of these expenses, and a hundred more, require a set of rules to define when it is, and is not, a deductible expense. If we try to simplify the rules by removing them, does that mean I can deduct my gasoline expense, or not? We will need a rule to explain the missing rule. Another example: We need timing rules. Does a sale become "Income" when the customer signs the contract? When the product is delivered? When the payment arrives? You probably have an opinion, and so do I, but there is no escaping the need for a rule. Well, there is one escape. The income tax is inherently complex, because income is inherently complex. It cannot be simplified by saying, "Everyone pays 10%." The tax rate was never the complexity, which means we cannot simplify the tax code with a single rate, unless the rate is 0%.
