@dr_ericberg Only posted it today and here’s what science and hard data has to say:

Want to hear something wild? For decades, saturated fats were demonized as artery-clogging villains, while unsaturated fats were praised as heart-healthy heroes. But the truth was inverted. Saturated fats, like butter and tallow, are actually stable and supportive for your body, like solid bricks in a wall. Meanwhile, the industrially processed polyunsaturated fats, which were promoted as healthy, are fragile and prone to oxidation, making them dangerous. This "inversion" of truth extends to other foods too: eggs were bad, now they increase good cholesterol. Grains are still marketed as "heart-healthy" despite being refined and gut-damaging. Red meat was demonized, but it's a healing food for many. Even salt was villainized due to blood pressure, when most high blood pressure has an unknown cause. It makes no sense to me how our food advice got so flipped. Does it make any sense to you?

@wtogami @danaparish All macrolide, beta-lactams etc. antibiotics will eventually lead to anti microbial resistance AMR, especially if used long term, and that is why symptoms comes back rather sooner then later. This phenomenon needs serious discussion.

@danaparish For me LC symptoms were reduced 80% for a month December 2024 and November 2025 during a month of azithromycin. Doxycycline did nothing in my case. Then it gradually stopped working so I discontinued. Mystery as to what happened. Labs including Lyme western blot unchanged.

The American Heart Association was the first group in the world to proclaim saturated fat is bad for health (in 1961). So of course it's are not backing down. Even reject full-fat milk and normal cheese--due to sat fat content--ignoring the last 15 years of science to the contrary. An illustration in the intransigence of bureaucracies

Mindy Kitei: journalist
Robert Benson emailed me about his dramatic improvement w Dr. Kevin McCairn's therapy that combines dual filtration plasma apheresis (DFPP) to filter the blood w stem cell–derived growth factors. Robert wrote: "I associate [my illness] with the [Covid] vaccine; my doctor agreed. I had 3 Pfizer shots. Two in May of 2021 & a booster in Dec 2021, which is when my problems started. Two days after my honeymoon. "I also had Covid 3 times, but never had a positive test. Last summer, high-dosage ivermectin relieved my symptoms but now [it] does not work at all." Through the course of his illness, he's been bedridden at times, often, he says, "going as long as 6 weeks w/out going outside." Robert's other symptoms: "Severe anxiety, vertigo, shortness of breath, exercise intolerance. Unable to answer phone or text, email, pay bills, balance issues, so much more. "Since procedure day 1, all symptoms are relieved, but I am not 100%. Just thrilled to be able to get out of bed and go about my life. I have 2-3 weeks left of therapy. "I can tell my brain is not 100%; the docs are clear I may have a new baseline. Things should continue to improve as more clots are removed." Robert's experience w the procedure itself, which is known as the Dracula procedure because blood is filtered via the jugular vein: "I have 4 weeks of treatments scheduled. I complete[d] week one. The week started with what I call the Keith Richards therapy. DFPP, where they insert into my jugular vein and filter my blood and send it back in once clean. "Slight pain on insertion. Uncomfortable for the 3-hour treatment in hospital." While the thought of the treatment was "horrifying," the reality, he says, "was really not too bad." The 5 other days he gets stem-cell growth factors via IV in the arm: "One hour at the clinic. Painless," he says. "The stem-cell growth factors aren't stem cells. They are derived from babies' teeth, unique to this hospital in Japan, I believe." With Dr. McCairn's treatment, stem-cell growth factors are likely designed to encourage stem cells to repair damaged tissues. Robert felt so good after his first treatment that he went on a 6-mile run, which he realizes now was too much, too soon. "Running was stupid," he puts it bluntly. "I loved it, but it triggered some issues that went away the next day. Walking miles every day not bad. I got my life back. I want to do things, enjoy life." But sometimes, you just need to feel like yourself, the way you used to feel. When Robert got sick w long vax, he was 55 and, he says, "in the best shape of my life." He was two years out from corporate world, working as a fishing guide. His own slice of heaven. Benson says he's lost many friends & even family due to his illness. Unfortunately, when we lose our health, many of us lose a lot more than just our health. Dr. Kevin's McCairn's treatment is in Japan. Robert is patient #14. PART 2 with Robert, soon to follow. In the meantime, some things to ponder. Could Dr. McCairn's treatment be used with other diseases, including ME (ME/CFS)? Could Dr. McCairn's be used in conjunction with Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong's antiviral and cancer drug Anktiva to treat long Covid, long vax & ME? As a 1-2 punch? @KevinMcCairnPhD @HouseLyndseyRN @robert65968 @chrisca70578779 @AliceOutThere @julie_bush @bullishbruk @KennyCarmody @IrishMECFS @mike98572986 @useless_priest @mhornig #longcovid #Covidvaccine

I was just asked what’s been the one most effective treatment I’ve seen for Long Covid, & I’ve seen lots. It’s been antibiotics. The virus persists, causing reactivation of other infections. Some, ie bartonella, are antibiotic responsive. Some need different treatments.

The thymus. It's the organ that trains every T cell your body sends to fight cancer, infections, and dysfunctional cells. Most of oncology focuses on removing the brakes on the immune system through checkpoint inhibitors. But about 75-80% of tumors are immunologically "cold." The immune system isn't even seeing them. You can block every escape route cancer has, but if the soldiers were never trained to recognize the enemy, the brakes were never the problem. We've been asking why patients fail immunotherapy. Maybe the better question is whether their immune system was ever equipped for the fight.

Is it strange that I am not getting better and only getting worse when all the therapy I got is the MCAS therapy and antihistamine meds? Those are my results before I was put on Ketotifen, h2 and h1 blocker. I mean what is the indication? Slightly higher leukotriene? When others are having values over 1000? And this is only post reinfection, even that was normal in 2023. DAO is genetically low, I am supplementing now. But no one looked into my low oxygen levels, blood vessels, etc… ever!

@danka_mm This is the only strategy which really moved the needle, and I found nothing else really. All I can add is a twitter user contacted me last year, he is doing it already, and has improved 60% within the last 6 months(brain fog, pain, sleep etc.)

@danka_mm So the idea is this, "nuke" all type of microbes in whole GI first, without giving "them" opportunity to develop resistance, it needs to be done gently and long term, then diet will do the rest. It works pretty well/stable, but has no scientific base, its DIY, and risky.

Dont even know what that is? Is it like Ozone therapy? Ozone that is given IV? That was recommended to me 2 years ago. Unfortunately, I am in a too bad state to try something like it. But I generally do think that I am starved of oxygen. Have some ideas how to treat it, but nothing easily available…

@danka_mm Famotidine can also lead to SIFO due to stomach acid production suppression, which is very often misdiagnosed. I don't think pro/prebiotics and herbs itself can in general move a needle, not from my experience anyway.

I was never diagnosed with SIBO butcif U have id it is the consequence of taking famotidine. Which I am stopping now. And yes, I am homozygous on a variant in AOC1 gene that causes migraines due to low production of dao. I worked with Alex Zaharakis, protocol with herbs, pre/pro/post biotics etc… There were shifts in my microbiome, but as I said no improvement whatsoever of any kind. He told me that it is probably not due to the gut and to search for other routes.

Shining Science@ShiningScience·
Scientists linked chronic fatigue to a deficiency in butyrate-producing bacteria. Recent breakthroughs published in Cell Host & Microbe and Nature Medicine have uncovered a profound connection between the gut microbiome and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS). Researchers from Columbia University and the Jackson Laboratory found that patients suffering from this debilitating condition often lack specific health-promoting bacteria, most notably Faecalibacterium prausnitzii. This deficiency leads to a critical shortage of butyrate, a short-chain fatty acid essential for maintaining the gut barrier and regulating energy metabolism. Without these vital microbial components, the body enters what experts describe as a "gut-driven energy crisis," directly impacting a patient's physical and mental stamina. The implications of these findings are transformative for the millions of people living with chronic fatigue. The studies demonstrated that the reduction of beneficial microbial species like Roseburia and Coprococcus is directly correlated with the severity of a patient's symptoms. By pinpointing these specific biological markers, scientists are now closer than ever to developing precise diagnostic tools and therapeutic interventions that target the microbiome. Rather than treating fatigue as a vague symptom, medical professionals can now look toward restorative gut treatments as a viable path to reclaiming energy and health. source: Cell Host & Microbe and Nature Medicine (2025). Microbial Alterations and the Gut-Driven Energy Crisis in Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

@danka_mm AOC1 gene encodes DAO afaik, but also since it's being produced in the epithelial cells inside small intestine and if SI is damaged due to overgrowth can lead to deficiencies also. What balancing rounds were it, and how small intestine was "tackled" if it's not a secret?

No it is genetic in my case. I have been doing biomesight tests over the years and dao stayed the same even after my gut shifted. I did 3 balancing rounds with a microbiome analyst and no imporvement. I have been suffering from migraines all my life and only recently discovered that low DAO is the cause-due to genetic testing.
