@adgpi Creation of 8th Pay commission cell in MoD. Manned and officered by civilian cadre only. Not a single rep from armed forces. Letter not even sent to service HQs though sent to all other cadre controlling organisations under MoD. May be I am missing something!

Sir pls note that this time in notification of Govt of India for 8th pay commission the word ‘Defence Forces’ has been dropped. Instead the word ‘Armed Forces’ has been used. That means military and CAPF have been clubbed together. This issue needs deliberations? Is it correct to club commissioned officers with Group A Officers? Whereas Defence Forces Officers always drew pay parity with IAS an all India services.

Please do not test the discipline and patience of soldiers and veterans, its finite, request don’t force the issue to a breaking point. Such incidents are now taking place at regular intervals. The police needs to be sensitised and responsible.

Deeply concerned by the incident in Vasant Enclave involving the assault on a serving Brigadier of the Indian Army, his wife and son, a 23-year-old IIT Delhi graduate. I have personally spoken with Brigadier P.S. Arora to enquire about the incident and their well-being. I also spoke with the Police Commissioner and the DCP, directing them to ensure a thorough and swift investigation, leading to immediate and appropriate action against those responsible. I have further directed @DelhiPolice to provide full security to the officer and his family. We remain committed to ensuring the safety of our citizens and upholding the rule of law.

•I Cheated Death• Let us remember Lt Col Dhan Singh Thapa, PVC on his 98th birth anniversary. "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." Mr. PS Thapa and Smt Draupadi Thapa welcomed Dhan Singh Thapa into the world on April 28, 1928 in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Manu, Bikram, and Kishan Thapa were his three brothers. Shakuntala Thapa was the name of his only sister. He participated in athletic activities frequently while attending Gorkha School in Shimla to study. Thapa excelled at football. He was given a choice to enlist in the army or the police. He made the decision to enlist in the Army. After graduating from Officers Training School, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant into the 1st Battalion of the 8 Gorkha Rifles on August 28, 1949, and received his first posting with the unit in Ferozpur. He fought in Nagaland's counter-terrorism campaign as a Captain prior to the 1962 war, and he was adjutant of the 10th Battalion of the Assam Rifles from December 1959 to September 1962. (1/n)
