I congratulate the political parties that have formed a coalition and pledged to support @KagutaMuseveni in the ongoing presidential election campaigns. The leaders of these parties paid a courtesy call on me this evening @OPM. Some of the parties include the Republic Women and Youth Party, Liberal Democratic Transparency (LDT), National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED), Revolutionary People’s Party (RPP), Congress Service Volunteers Organisation (COSEVO), and Liberal Democratic Transparency (LDT). I commend @KiwandaSsuubi, the Chairman of the National Consultative Forum, a constitutional body that brings together all political parties with representation in Parliament for mobilising these parties. I welcome their decision to form a coalition and support President @KagutaMuseveni to continue protecting the gains.@NRMOnline @GovUganda @GCICUganda @Parliament_Ug @StateHouseUg

UGANDA YOUNG DEMOCRATS* 18th September, 2025 STATEMENT ON THE ILLEGAL NEC MEETING SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER AT POPE PAUL MEMORIAL HOTEL, NDEEBA. The Uganda Young Democrats wish to express dissatisfaction over the secretly organised illegal NEC meeting scheduled for tommorrow Friday at Pope Pope VI Memorial Hotel in Ndeeba, to among other things illegally award @DPSecretariat1 tickets to aspiring MP candidates and throw out those they don't like, especially UYDs. On Tuesday, we attended a hastily organised tribunal hearing at the @UgandaEC offices that was clearly organised hurriedly to legitimize the fraudulent DP leadership and have it gazetted despite the Commission sitting on DP complaints that have been filed there for the last five years. Democrats stood their ground and warned @UgandaEC not to gazette fraudsters until the DP petitions and pending court cases are resolved and it was upon that that the hearing was suspended indefinitely. It's very sad that even before the commission communicates the next step, a NEC meeting has been illegally organised when it's clear that DP has no leadership because the old one was dissolved in Mbarara and the purported new one has never been gazetted. After meeting Gen Museveni in Kololo and receiving security back up, the purported leadership will head to Pope Paul Hotel in Ndeeba for an illegal meeting tommorrow presided over by the country's Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs @norbertmao The @DPSecretariat1 long time ago ceased from being a party of law and order and is now governed by the barrel of the gun. Pope Paul VI Memorial Hotel is a traditional DP venue known to cherish the principles of truth and justice so we keep wondering how it got entangled in issues of DP imposters that will ruin it's reputation. How we wish they meet the spirit of Pope John Paul VI in there a man who had what to stand for! When rule of law breaks down in society, hooliganism takes precedent to enable society defend its values! We therefore inform all DP members who love their party to take note of an illegal NEC sitting in Ndeeba that is going to further sink the party with unlawful resolutions under heavy military guard! The Uganda Young Democrats will continue to use all avenues at our disposal to ensure that DP is not erased from Uganda's books of history.
