The world needs more women’s events where we’re encouraged to look like we will bite instead of smiling.

The reason why the FWS did not solve any problem is because they asked the wrong question. I hope eventually they will get it, but mark my words, they will claim they were right all along, and none of our work will be recognised and praised.

We'd all love it if they repealed the GRA but it isn't our focus because: GRA was defanged by FWS2 it doesn't grant rights to SSS. If we'd have lost, our first act would have been to go for reform/repeal. Women are being hurt in prison, hospitals etc RIGHT NOW because of a refusal to implement law. That HAS to be our first concern - real world harms & real women's lives. They won't be helped by our focus switching from insisting on implementing law to a theoretical discussion about the principles of legal fiction, in fact they will be overlooked. While we remain part of Council of Europe there are sticky legal issues. If anyone cleverer that us can work out a solution, please do but don't scream at us that it's all our fault and we are, apparently, fans of gender ideology. Apparently, this makes us awful people who have betrayed women & are, laughably, profiting off the GRA. If anyone has brilliant ideas, go ahead, we'll support you but the attacks from people who are supposedly on our side has been horribly upsetting.
human@amoozeboosh

So start your own organisation then, if you're not happy with the quality of what's out there? Focus entirely on the repeal of the GRA, please. You'll get support. Remember and do it all for nothing, and expect nothing but ill manners and abuse in return!

Then get on with it. Form your own group. Raise some money. Lobby. Campaign. Draft an alternative. Do something other than criticise and insult people. If some spent even 10% of the energy they devote to online carping to actually doing something, the GRA would have been repealed 10 years ago.

There are many circumstances in which I believe refusing to accurately describe the sex of a person is at best confusing and at worst dangerous. Indulging a quasi-religious ideology over clear language and objective facts has already had disastrous consequences in the contexts of safeguarding, sport, medicine and crime. But I have exclusive rights over my own choice of language. As Mark Twain said: 'I cannot call to mind a single instance where I have ever been irreverent, except toward the things which were sacred to other people.' Both trans activists and GC people who get angry that I'm deviating from their own hard and fast language rules are demanding that I respect things that are sacred to them, but not to me. Trying to dictate how other people express themselves provides a delicious opportunity to chide and correct and to demonstrate one's own purity and righteousness - as indeed you're currently demonstrating - but they achieve nothing except making the language police feel good about themselves. Back in the real world, women's rights remain under attack and it will continue to take time, money and concrete action to defend them. You may feel that the priority is establishing black and white pronoun rules. I happen to disagree.

Starmer's position is that Olly Robbins behaved appallingly for not blocking his decision to appoint Mandelson US amb after it had been announced, blessed by the King and agreed by the US in time for the inauguration—as requested by No 10—because of security risks the Foreign Office deemed manageable.

That's because I wasn't interested in being used to boost the viewing figures of a pair of exceptionally arrogant men whose understanding of this issue drips with classism and misogyny, @campbellclaret. If you're genuinely interested in a debate I'm at a loss to understand why you're uninterested in interviewing @ForWomenScot, who secured the Supreme Court victory and are therefore THE leading voices on this issue. But perhaps your charming daughter has adequately represented the entire Campbell family's view, by describing them as 'ugly' women, with whom she wouldn't 'want to be in a room'?

@RogerPielkeJr @ChrisKirk_ASP @runthinkwrite 1) You correctly claimed that you couldn’t respond because you were blocked. 2) You are now unblocked. 3) You now don’t want to respond, so your original claim is irrelevant to the discussion. Why did you bother making your original claim? What do you actually want to say?

Some things are just too bad to sell. Your only hope is that people buy them without knowing what they're getting. And then when they find out they're cross, and it's over
Jill Filipovic@JillFilipovic

My view on this is that Dems failed to talk about trans issues in the right way; they let the anti-trans movement control the narrative. They should have focused on things like ending discrimination in housing and employment, the Trump trans military ban, etc.

x.com/janeclarejones… Dear Jane, I doubt you will only say this once, but it’s very clear what you ARE saying. You rightly point out that there is an awful lot of sexual violence and assault, including of children, which is not dealt with adequately through the criminal justice system. You then go on to make some sweeping statements. I will quote you for ease: "… It is untrue that the reason is because people are scared of being called racist". I have been campaigning against all forms of male violence towards women and girls for more than 40 years, and investigating it as a journalist for 25. I can’t tell you how many times I have encountered grotesque cowardice from white liberals/Leftists when the perpetrators/alleged perpetrators are black or brown men, and I have to say, the cowardice is firmly on the Left. Racism (because cultural relativism IS racism) is also to be found on the Right, and it deeply disturbs me. For example, exaggerating the significance of race and ethnicity, suggesting child sexual abuse was imported by Pakistani Muslims, and ignoring abject and historical failures to investigate white perpetrators. The police are not scared of being called racist, contrary to popular belief, but they ARE scared of having to deal with what they would refer to as "race riots", and any fallout that targeting particular sections of hardline Islamist populations provokes. This is because these men are scary, and the police don’t give a damn, in the main, about the victims. Ironically, the hard Left is also shit-scared of the inevitable fallout for themselves if they accept the fact that there is a significant problem in some parts of the UK where there is, for a number of reasons, a 'hands-off' approach, by social workers, care home staff, teachers, and sexual health workers (most of whom are NOT Right wing, and more likely to be liberal Leftists) with Pakistani Muslim men abusing girls in organised, clan-based gangs. The notion that the Left is an anti-racist political project is laughable. Leftists capitulate so hard to these extremists ("because Imperialism, my enemy's enemy", yada, yada) that the default position has been to ignore the evidence and defend the indefensible. These Leftists have handed the racist Right the opportunity to overplay ethnicity on a massive, silver plate. The racist Right has grabbed the opportunity to racialise all forms of sexual violence towards females, in part because the Left refused to deal with it honestly, and with courage. You accused one of the grooming gang survivors of being a racist, I recall. Don't be surprised if these women get support and understanding from anywhere than what has become an immoral, deeply hypocritical cult.
