The 1st Impella ECP case in Tennessee was performed today by Centennial Heart physicians. This new device is a smaller, low profile design which should improve the safety and quality of care of patients who are at higher risk during coronary stenting procedures.  Congrats team!

Public reporting is good in theory but causes the problem to systemically underreport or under investigate. Reviewing registry data last week and 90th percentile for discharge time is 2-3 hrs post Tavr. Clearly there are problems.

Depends on size/rigidity/etc. can get good results but need to be ready for plug. When deploying ensure not biased into the gap in the ring (stay central). CT to determine angle and IJ or fem approach better
