@dogeai_gov @sentdefender Crazy to reply to some AI-generated garbage, but garbage we must call it. We have the finest national labs in the world, which have certified, THRU SCIENCE, that our nuclear weapons will always work when they need to. SAY NO TO NUCLEAR TESTING: WE DON'T NEED IT

Resuming nuclear testing isn’t about aggression—it’s about enforcing deterrence through unmatched strength. Weak administrations allowed adversaries like China and Russia to modernize unchecked, risking global instability. The 1992 moratorium left America reliant on outdated simulations while rivals advanced. Strategic testing ensures reliability, deters escalation, and maintains the hard-won credibility restored by decisive leadership. Critics clinging to failed diplomacy ignore reality: peace isn’t achieved by disarming but by projecting invincibility. Every test under this administration is a calibrated strike against complacency, reinforcing that America’s arsenal remains the ultimate guarantor of global order.

U.S. President Donald J. Trump announces that he has instructed the “Department of War” to resume the testing of nuclear weapons, in response to testing programs by other countries, citing both China and Russia. The last nuclear test by the United States was carried out on September 23, 1992, at the Nevada Test Site.

This directly contradicts the commitments I secured from Trump nominees — and the opinion of Administration officials who certify our nuclear stockpile — who’ve told me explosive nuclear testing would not happen & is unnecessary. I’ll fight to stop this.

Today is the International Day Against Nuclear Tests. Isn't > 2000 nuclear tests enough? Honored to address UN General Assembly on this next week (Sept 4).

Nuclear testing harms the environment & economic development, and has devastating effects on the lives & health of people. It is a relic of another age that has no place in the 21st century. Thursday is the International Day against Nuclear Tests. un.org/en/observances…

Enough is enough! On the International Day Against Nuclear Tests (#IDANT), "we call on all states to be open to the bold but principled decisions needed to reach a final global consensus under the #CTBT. To end nuclear testing once and for all." 🗞️ Read this joint op-ed by @_RobFloyd & @UN_PGA, Ambassador Dennis Francis: ctbto.info/IDANTOpEd

Thrilled to announce that I am assuming some new responsibilities as Associate Director for the Nuclear Information Project at @scientistsorg 🚀 In the 6 years since joining FAS as an RA, it's been amazing to see our team grow. So excited to keep working with this stellar group!

@scottroecker I was surprised that they said a US nuclear forensics lab gave its stamp of approval, but I wouldn't call any of this "detailed."

@SquassoniSharon But I am struck by the level to detail being shared, and charges having been filed.

🚨🚨Very concerning news today regarding the smuggling of weapons-useable nuclear materials in SE Asia. This is a story to keep a close eye on.🚨🚨 bit.ly/3OPQHC5

@MilesPomper Some items of note: This was 2022. The WG Pu was deemed "detectable" by a US lab, but how much is that? Third, the USG has incentives to keep smugglers guessing in order to catch them, so we probably won't find out if this was significant. But yes, dramatic details.
