@adamKDean @lesser_mfl It is the same power structure. I agree it was a bad thing in the case of the genesis keys. I disagree it is a bad thing in the case of the Pentad. In the case of the Pentad this is in the interest of Cardano IMHO.

If you're going to stick your head in the sand and pretend they (IO, CF, Emurgo) are not teeing up the Pentad to be precisely this "executive authority" then we'll have to let the conversation end there. If you can't see the nearly 1:1 identical power structure in the Pentad v. Genesis keys then... IDK even know what to say

The Pentad is a welcome collaboration amongst the players with most stake in the Cardano ecosystem to finally get big integrations rolling. Something the community on its own can't manage. I fail to see how this compares to the Genesis keys. It is good that we got rid of the genesis keys, it is good that we got the Pentad to work for our ecosystem in unity.

@lesser_mfl @Straightpool4 IDK, I keep seeing insinuation that the "Community/DReps can't understand/too stupid" and that's why it's broken. An executive group is literally what we had. The "Pentad" looks an awful lot exactly like the Genesis Keys...

@adamKDean @Straightpool4 IMO upgrading governance is reasonable. If we can even eliminate 10% of the toxicity it would be worth it. Bright people with deep knowledge can still disagree on projects and funding and we need a way to resolve those issues without X drama

Attention SPOs!!! We need you to update to 11.0.1. It has better performance, is hard fork ready and reduces chances of forks from larger blocks! Let's go folks! While there's still downstream tooling integrating, none of that affects block producers. Thanks all!!!

Let me share a bit of a personal story. The first time I came across @IOGroup was through a brilliant developer in Korea, someone who had previously led one of the country's most well-known blockchain academic societies and ran several popular projects. Back in graduate school, he mentioned in an interview that he wanted to build a company like IOHK, one centered around deep technical research. Even then, he understood how important peer-reviewed papers and verifiable academic research were as the foundation of a blockchain. Through him, I came to understand just how exceptional IOHK was as a company, and how deeply technical the Cardano network truly is. As we all know, this market is fundamentally a technology-driven market, and at the core of every fundamental, technology is what stands. What drew me to Cardano was exactly that, its outstanding technology, and the deep thinking and philosophy that shaped its very beginning. Lately, it feels like there's a lot of friction and dissonance within the ecosystem. But realistically speaking, IOG's presence in the Cardano ecosystem is irreplaceable. Their academic depth and engineering capabilities grounded in formal verification have produced technical breakthroughs that no other company has achieved. Put simply, without IOG's research and core development capabilities, I believe the very foundation of Cardano could be shaken. What's fascinating is that they've been collaborating with multiple companies to gradually decentralize the network's dependency on IOG itself, while also nurturing more Cardano-specialized engineers along the way. In other words, they are voluntarily reducing their own influence and helping the ecosystem stand on its own. This is an act of intentionally letting go of their own power so that the ecosystem can evolve and grow organically. I have never witnessed, in this entire market, a company willingly setting aside its power and influence for the sake of an ecosystem. I genuinely believe they are working for the long-term growth and decentralization of Cardano. In that spirit, I hope we can move forward through dialogue rather than exclusion, and through understanding and constructive feedback rather than blame. As people who are building this ecosystem together, I believe differences in opinion should not be a reason for conflict, but rather a starting point for finding a better path forward.

I do strongly feel the Pogun proposal deserves funding as is. I have posted extensively about Pogun in the past few weeks. Happy to repeat the most important points: - The proposal will help to make the treasury self sustainable by repaying the full funding plus 5% perpetually. This is only possible with the current bundling with a yield product. This is the first proposal for this, so this could be a future 'Pogun test' to measure other proposals by - This proposal will implement the open source core of the DeFi Kernel. I have never been excited about DeFi until I learned about the DeFi Kernel, which was envisioned by economist Rusty near to Cardano who sees the full potential of eUTXO for composable (yes with staking), non-margin, non-custodial, bi-directional DeFi. This could be a huge unique selling point and narrative for Cardano moving forward and one of the first times Cardano is ahead. This would be a massive win for the UTXBros movement and the whole DeFi on Cardano narrative. - Rusty is advising the team building this out, so I have good reason to believe they will build what we need economically - I was in Dubai when Edan Yago proposed the idea of Bitcoin DeFi on the live stage at the Cardano Summit 2023. This has been the most exciting idea in years. We have yet to see full fruits of this. This proposal is the best chance we have to get there, finally. Three years later. - Even with a trust minimized Bitcoin Cardano bridge, I would never move BTC over to put into our current DeFi offering, where I can lose my position just because the market tanks, what crypto does regularly. This is a very different proposition with the DeFi Kernel, which offers stable, serious DeFi. Yet, given all of this, with our current minimal viable governance we will from the looks of it fail to approve this and rather delay this further or let another chain implement this first because of 'questions'. It should have been clear from the start minimal viable governance will not be the end state. A good year into Cardano governance is now a good opportunity to think about upgrades and changes benefiting from learnings from past votes. The Pogun one is just one proposal which triggers me most, as I see this as a no-brainer with massive benefits for the Cardano ecosystem on multiple levels. It is deeply frustrating to me, if it doesn't pass. I hope this helps to understand my perspective. Happy to disagree. Even with disagreeing we should always strive to be and remain agreeable

Pogun might not make it, and it saddens me. First because I know the team and I consider them highly. Second because the product, the tech and what it could provide to the ecosystem is highly valuable for many DeFi use cases.

Final hours before DRep voting closes. Over the last 5 weeks, IO has published full proposal breakdowns, delivery plans and milestones, FAQs, proposal rationale, open discussions with initiative leads, and the proposals that were rejected alongside the reasoning behind those decisions. The work is public and the decision now sits with the community. Review the proposals and cast your vote: momentum.cardano.iog.io

After reflecting deeply on this governance process, a few things are clearer to me than ever. Cardano is alive. The community is engaged. And that matters more than any single vote. But this process has shown me something important: Cardano's governance is real. You are not passive holders. You are owners. That is exactly what we built this for. It has also reminded me that when Cardano has needed it most, the Pentad delivered. IOG, EMURGO, the Cardano Foundation, Midnight Foundation, and Intersect have proven they can coordinate and bring critical integrations to life when the ecosystem needed it. That coordination layer matters now more than ever. So let me show up the way I should. I will be in Singapore for the Cardano Summit and I will be on stage. I am also personally committing to partially top up our Token2049 sponsorship to Title level. Being on that main stage is where Cardano and Midnight need to be heard. To the Pentad, I am inviting all of you to sit down and have a real conversation about the future of governance and how we formalise this coordination going forward. I am 100% focused on Cardano and Midnight. Always have been. Let me prove it. #strongertogether

@Straightpool4 Because people have questions and aren't convinced by a single IO proposal we need to change the entire system of governance because that somehow signals that it's "broken"? This can't be a real perspective

@IOHK_Charles cowboystatedaily.com/2026/05/22/gil… Heard this was closing down my friend. Any way I can touch base with you and learn why it's closing down, look under the hood with you? Maybe I can opine and help make this work, either in this or a future iteration. Trying to make sister Mayo Clinic is a very noble cause. I'd love to help and I'd love to touch base. I'm on the Teton side my man.
