Today, the court ordered the exhumation of Irfan Laghari’s grave. His body had been buried by the Sindh police after they declared it laawaris (unclaimed), even though his family had identified him and wanted to claim the body. The family had demanded that an FIR be registered, but the police refused. Instead, the police buried Irfan’s body without the family’s consent.

Shankar Das, the husband of Sunita Maharaj — a married mother of four children who was abducted from Dighri Mirpurkhas Sindh, and forced into a religious conversion followed by a marriage — has reached the office of the @PItehad along with his innocent children to seek help.
