I've heard thousands of pitches of carbon offsets on the blockchain. Where are they now? I would gladly put to a vote for the ENS DAO to calculate and offset all our CO2 gas costs from the Public Goods Budget. Converting gas usage to carbon to dollars is harder than it seems.

If you’re a validator on either Prater or MainNet and not already running your own local execution client, NOW is the time to fix that. The merge is coming and a local execution client is required to avoid inactivity penalties.

@Mnemnopt @leashless Yeah, we got a running version using the hybrid approach in our API at docs.api.carbon-ratings.com. We are currently bundling it with proper address scanning (w/o etherscan) to get a full picture of an address‘ carbon emissions including Erc20/Erc721.

@leashless Every calculation I see in popular discourse is (emissions of entire network) \ (total transactions) = (emissions per transaction). This attributes zero emissions to mining, and is therefore nonsense. Here's what @UliGall suggests, but I haven't seen anyone achieve it:
