It's actually not the law ANYWHERE...including #NYC. ⏰️ Bear with me for a ~15 second lesson on 🇺🇸 constitutional law. 📜 Zohran Mamdani is a mayor. It's right there in his @X handle: @NYCMayor. #ICE enforces federal immigration law. Art. VI, 🇺🇸 Constitution says "Laws of the United States" (that is, federal law) are "supreme Law of the Land." This means federal immigration law - not Mayor Mamdani's executive order - is supreme. And no federal law requires federal agents to possess a warrant simply to entire a public premises (see, eg, 4th Amendment). So, the mayor's executive order is not, in fact, law anywhere ... including NYC. Class dismissed. You're welcome.

What began as intercommunal tensions orchestrated by Turkey’s MIT escalated later into a full scale invasion and illegal occupation that continues to this day. Turkey has ignored dozens of UN resolutions demanding withdrawal of occupation forces, return of refugees and respect for Cyprus’ sovereignty and territorial integrity. Every single one of these acts is a flagrant breach of resolutions, charters, conventions and basic principles of international law. The international community, especially the EU, UNSC and all democratic nations must stop treating this as a “frozen conflict.” It is an active occupation built on war crimes and human rights atrocities. Cyprus deserves justice. Its stolen land must be returned and time for real action, targeted sanctions, enforcement of ECHR judgments, full implementation of UN resolutions and an end to Turkey’s impunity. (* Nakba, as originally defined by Constantin Zureiq, the Arab writer who coined the term, was the “catastrophe” of 7 Arab armies failing to “Erase Zionism”)
