Tomorrow, April 22, 2026, Nigeria’s Supreme Court will rule in what is widely viewed as a politically motivated case aimed at dismantling the opposition and destabilizing the African Democratic Congress party (@ADCNig).
There is growing concern that certain Justices may elevate procedural technicalities over the rule of law, effectively aiding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (@OfficialABAT) in consolidating power and pushing Nigeria toward a one party state.
The U.S. State Department is legally required by Congress to monitor and report on the status of judiciaries and human rights in foreign countries pursuant to the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 and the Country Reports on Human Rights Practices requirement. As mandated by law, we are actively monitoring this case and briefing the Department of State on our assessment of the validity of the forthcoming ruling. Any ruling influenced by pressure from the current Nigerian government will be evident to all.

Someone I’ll forever root for till the end of my life is @Omolomo_o . There are many stories to tell about his exploits during the world record but every time I felt tired and wanted to give up, he was right there cheering with an insane amount of energy.
He stayed up the entire 60 hours with us and never stopped even for a moment until the very end. I love you man and I pray all your dreams come true. May you indeed get to show your mum the world through your eyes and your life.
It will be exactly 2 years since we officially broke the record in a few hours and I’m reminiscing on all the things that made the moment truly meaningful. Yours was one of them.

I just got further disturbing information about this mortuary called a hospital.
They don’t have oxygen, no fatal monitoring machine for babies, no water, no fuel for caesarian section.
The mortality rate is so high. So many babies and mothers have perished in this hospital.
