Lynn Ngugi was very much around when Uhuru hosted Barack Obama. She already had a big platform. We did not see her saying African youth do not need America then. So what exactly has changed now? A lot of the backlash against Ruto is disguised as ideological resistance, yet beneath the surface, it is plainly rooted in ethnic discomfort and the reality of power shifting away from Mt. Kenya’s political establishment. These are people who were comfortable with foreign influence, Western partnerships, and elite political arrangements for years as long as the political center of gravity remained favorable to them..

The PBS article accurately reports Trump's Dec 3, 2022 Truth Social post: "A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution." It quotes the full line and notes rebukes from both parties (e.g., Reps. Turner and Lawler, plus Dems). That's verifiable from the original post and contemporaneous coverage across sources. Trump later clarified it wasn't a literal call to end the Constitution but to address claimed fraud.

My neighbor kept parking in my driveway, so I blocked him in and left town. He’d been doing it for months. I told him to stop more times than I can count, but every time it was the same excuse: “Relax, it’s just for a sec.” Last Friday I got home… and there he was again. Only difference? I was leaving town for the weekend. So I parked behind him, locked up, grabbed my bags, and left. A few hours later my phone was blowing up. Missed calls. Angry texts. “Dude, what the fuck??” I didn’t answer. Hope he enjoyed the weekend thinking it over.

Nothing personal, but Nigeria is one of the countries where I found it particularly difficult to access my own money as a foreigner. During my visit, I held accounts with Absa Group, Equity Bank, and Standard Chartered. Even withdrawing a modest amount like $200 was often a challenge. I would spend several minutes waiting at ATMs, only to find that cash had run out, especially when attempting to withdraw larger amounts equivalent to $500 or more in naira. On the payments side, the situation was equally frustrating. Many local restaurants and hotels do not readily accept international debit or credit cards. On one occasion in Abuja, after dinner, we had to send someone out to exchange $200 into naira just so we could settle the bill. When he couldn’t find a bureau de change, he ended up purchasing naira informally from individuals on the street. While I acknowledge and respect the impressive growth of fintech innovation in Nigeria, these experiences point to deeper systemic challenges, particularly around cash accessibility and the usability of international payment systems for foreigners.

This is just too funny 🤦‍♂️ Trump's justification for extending his deadline by 2 weeks is that Pakistan's Prime Minister "requested" it. But when you look at the edit history of the post in question by Pakistan's PM, where he "requests" the extension, it's painfully obvious it was sent to him by the White House since he first stupidly posted it with the mention "Draft - Pakistan's PM Message on X" 🤣
Arnaud Bertrand tweet mediaArnaud Bertrand tweet media
Ryan Grim@ryangrim

Oh, this is unbelievable. The edit history on this tweet shows that Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif originally copied and pasted everything he was sent, including: "*Draft - Pakistan's PM Message on X*" Now, obviously, Sharif's own staff don't call him "Pakistan's PM," they would just call him prime minister. The U.S. and Israel, of course, would call him "Pakistan's PM." Would be funny if the fate of the world wasn't hanging in the balance.

BREAKING NEWS! Kenol Magistrate's Court has this morning sentenced Woman Human Rights Defender Priscilla Wangui to serve six months in jail or pay a fine of Ksh 50,000 . This follows a judgment on March 17, 2026, finding her guilty of assault (Case No. MCCR/E2301/2023). Priscilla is not just a name, she is the voice of the Mithiini Community. For years, she has led over 600 landless community members in Makuyu-Kirimeri Ward to reclaim ancestral land and legally challenge the legacy of colonial land alienation. Pricilla’s conviction is not isolated. Several frontline defenders remain in the corridors of justice facing trumped up charges for their advocacy by laying claim to their ancestral land. While we accept the Court's decision, we are deeply concerned by this verdict which we believe is part of a disturbing and broader pattern of criminalizing human rights defenders. When grassroots leaders who stand up for the marginalized are targeted with legal battles, it sends a chilling message to anyone fighting for land justice in Kenya. This pattern is worrying and all human rights defenders and friends of human rights defenders must stay vigilant, and stand tall against all forms of targeting and intimidation.

Bernie Sanders - millionaire socialist, owner of three houses, champion of the working class - was just caught flying Delta First Class out of Washington while the TSA agents he helped screw over cannot pay their bills. Not coach. Not economy. First Class. Leather seats and warm towels while the people keeping his flight safe go home to empty bank accounts. 😡 And here is what that image tells you about every single thing Bernie Sanders has ever said about income inequality. This is the man who has spent 40 years in Washington screaming about the billionaire class and the suffering of working Americans. He helped engineer the Democrat shutdown that left TSA workers without paychecks. He voted with Chuck Schumer to hold their salaries hostage for open border policies. Then he walked straight past those same underpaid workers, handed his bag to the First Class attendant, and settled into his seat without a moment of reflection. That is not a gaffe. That is who he is. That is who he has always been. The socialist lecture is for you. The First Class seat is for him. Remember every word Bernie Sanders has ever said about fairness and equality the next time you see him boarding from the front of the plane while the workers he claims to represent eat into their savings. No more excuses. No more games.

What #Morocco #Maroc should have done, during the 2025 #AFCON final. They should have refused to resume play, when Senegal returned, on the legitimate grounds that they had abandoned the game, after a 15 minute absence. If Maroc had done that, I would have fully supported that. And any legal case they instituted, as a result of that. But I cannot and will not support what they are doing now, because they resumed play, after Referee Jean-Jacques Ngambo Ndala called for the resumption. Had @Brahim scored for @EnMaroc, they would never have rejected the #AFCON 🏆 that would certainly have been theirs. This is a fact Morocco cannot deny…

In the 1976 AFCON final group stage (round-robin, no knockout final), Morocco vs Guinea ended 1-1 on 14 March in Addis Ababa. Guinea led 1-0 (33' Cherif Souleymane). After a red card to Morocco's Abdallah Semmat, historical reports (from ex-CAF officials, match recaps) say the Moroccan team protested by walking off the pitch for ~15 mins before returning. They equalized in the 86' via Ahmed Makrouh's long-range shot, clinching the title on points (5 vs Guinea's 4). People are talking now because Guinea's federation just demanded a review/revocation, citing CAF's recent Senegal forfeit ruling for consistency. The incident is documented in contemporary accounts and recent articles, though Wikipedia omits details and full match videos on YouTube show the game but vary on protest visibility. No official forfeiture happened at the time.

Senegal are likely to argue that they did not abandon the game, the match was completed by the referee’s whistle. They can say Article 82 was misapplied because the game continued under the same circumstances and reached its natural end. The referee allowing Senegal back on the pitch and Morocco happily continuing the game will be used to state the match - and result - was valid. As the final was completed, they can argue the integrity of the game was upheld. They can also claim changing the winner of a completed final is an extreme overreach by the Appeal Board. And that the punishment for a delay - not a refusal to play as they finished the game - is excessive.

HRF is alarmed by reports indicating that Kenyan authorities issued passports to a sanctioned Sudanese war financier and other individuals linked to Sudan’s genocidal Rapid Support Forces (RSF). This marks another troubling twist in President William Ruto's controversial alliance with the RSF, implicating authorities in aiding the paramilitary group's sanctions evasion. The international community should hold Kenya accountable.

You left out the most likely outcome - a negotiated peace with US getting its 3 demands 1. no nukes 2. no ballistic missiles 3. no terror proxies The government will stay in place as overthrowing it would lead to too much chaos. 🇺🇸🇮🇷 Trump has 3 options now regarding Iran: Option 1: Declear victory and retreat. This means that the United States will lose the Middle East forever, and Israel's days will be numbered. Option 2: Troops on the ground and very likely massive casualties and 0 result because everyone knows that it is impossible to take a country with 90 millions inhabitants. The relief of Iran is also characterized by a high, rugged, and arid central plateau completely enclosed by massive mountain ranges. Option 3: Nukes. Which will destroy Israel for sure this time. It's a total defeat unless he somehow get lucky and manage to win with his internal revolution in Iran , wich is very very not likely now.

@adammocklerr By these assumptions…..you have to think that the UK was funding the attack on Ukraine for the first two years (since they were buying Russian oil) And if that’s true, your real issue is with the UK funding the original invasion rather than the US doing it now at a far less rate

Let me give you some context into this and why UEFA rejected the apeal. During the first leg on February 17, 2026, Vinícius Júnior reported to referee François Letexier that Gianluca Prestianni directed racist abuse at him shortly after Vinícius scored. Kylian Mbappé backed it up, saying he heard Prestianni call Vinícius a "monkey" multiple times. Prestianni covered his mouth while speaking, which raised suspicions. Prestianni denied racial abuse. He admitted to UEFA that he used an "anti-gay" slur instead, according to sources close to the investigation. He claimed Vinícius "misunderstood" what was said. On February 23, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body imposed a provisional one-match suspension on Prestianni for a "prima facie violation" of Article 14 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations, which prohibits discrimination on grounds of race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. You should read my piece on audi alteram partem for more insight on the legitimacy or otherwise of this. Why Did UEFA Reject Benfica's Appeal? Benfica appealed quickly, arguing nothing was proven yet, Prestianni denies racism, and the suspension deprives them of a key player mid-investigation. But UEFA's Appeals Body rejected it on February 25, 2026. The provisional suspension stands. Here is why. First, the prima facie evidence threshold was met. Prima facie means "at first sight." UEFA believes there is sufficient initial evidence from witness statements by Vinícius, Mbappé, and possibly others to justify the interim ban while the full investigation continues. Second, provisional suspensions in discrimination cases are designed to be swift and precautionary. They do not require full proof yet, just reasonable belief of a violation to avoid ongoing risk during matches. Third, the decision is "without prejudice." It does not decide guilt. The full investigation continues separately. Prestianni will get a fair hearing. But for now, the ban stands. This aligns with UEFA's strict stance on racism, especially after Vinícius's repeated experiences. They act fast on provisional measures to send a message, even if final rulings take longer. What do you think? Fair call by UEFA, or should they wait for full proof before suspending players mid-tie? My name is Ajoje and I am a FIFA Licensed Agent and International Sports Lawyer. I talk about the Law and Business of Football a lot. Repost and Follow me if you want to read more posts like this.
